28 апреля 2011 года в Уганде возникли беспорядки, после проведенного в четверг четвертого за последний месяц ареста лидера оппозиции Кифефе Кизы Бесигие.Протестующие, использовали против полицейских баллончики с перцовым газом и молотки.
Сейчас лидер оппозиции в Кении - поправляет здоровье.
На президентских выборах в феврале 2011-го года Бесигие значительно уступил действующему главе государства Йовери Мусевени, который бессменно правит страной с 1986 года. После выборов Бесигие отказался признать результаты голосования. При этом ранее он отклонил юридические возможности для решения разногласий и сказал, что может призвать население к массовым протестам по египетскому и тунисскому образцу.
Мусевени в ответ заявил, что любые попытки выступлений будут подавляться самым жестоким образом.
