Drummers have gathered at the Drummers Grove for over 30 years, sharing their art with the community.

In 1968, the Congo Square Drummers met here informally, and since then the circle expanded to include an ever-evolving mix of musicians, dancers and vendors. The growing popularity of this area as a site for a weekly drumming circle inspired the Prospect Park Alliance to add seating and officially name the site. Many of the circle founders are world-class musicians and teachers who carry on this tradition for a new generation of drummers. If you're interested in practicing your drumming, or learning from the masters, stop by the Drummer's Grove any Sunday after 2:00 P.M. Anyone is free to bring their drums and participate, or just stop and listen while passing by on the East Lake Drive.
