Pattern: See diagram. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS and the entire pattern is worked in stocking st. English translations for the wording in diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.
Edge: Work 5 cm stocking st, P 1 row (= folding edge, measure piece from here), 5 cm stocking st in vertical stripes: * 2 blue sts, 2 light blue sts *.


Body: The jacket is worked in the round on circular needle and cut mid front afterwards. Cast on 205-217 sts (includes 5 sts mid front for cutting afterwards, these 5 sts are not included in pattern) on circular needle size 3 mm with blue and work Edge. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and continue in M.1, at the same time inc 40-52 sts evenly on round (do not inc on 5 sts mid front) = 240-264 sts + 5 sts mid front. After M.1 cast on 2 sts each side for seam and divide the piece in 2. Complete each piece separately.
Back piece: = 122-134 sts. Continue in blue stocking st. When piece measures 32-34 cm cast off 1 st each side for armhole. When piece measures 61-63 cm cast off the middle 42 sts for neck and cast off 1 st on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 62-64 cm.
Front piece: = 122-134 sts + 5 sts. Continue in blue stocking st. When piece measures 31 cm work next row as follows from RS: 25-29 blue sts, M.2 (with green), 15-17 blue sts, 5 blue sts, 61-67 blue sts. At the same time when piece measures 32-34 cm cast off 1 st each side for armhole. When piece measures 40-41 cm work next row as follows from RS: 60-66 blue sts, 5 blue sts, 15-16 blue sts, M.2 (with pink), 24-29 blue sts. When piece measures 50 cm work next row as follows from RS: 6-8 blue sts, M.2 (with off-white), 33-37 blue sts, 5 blue sts, 60-66 blue sts. Now complete piece in blue. At the same time when piece measures 56-58 cm cast off the middle 30 sts + 5 sts for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 3 times. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 62-64 cm.
Sleeve: Cast on 44-48 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with blue and work Edge. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue in M.1 (place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve), at the same time inc 16-12 sts evenly on first round = 60-60 sts. At the same time after the Edge inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 31-31 times on every * other, 3rd, 3rd and 4th * round alternately = 122-122 sts. After M.1 divide the sleeve mid under arm and complete piece back and forth on needle in blue. When piece measures 30-30 cm for left sleeve and 35-35 cm for right sleeve work M.2 mid upper sleeve (with green for right sleeve and pink for left sleeve). Continue in blue. When piece measures 47-45 cm cast off 6 sts each side for armhole and cast off to shape the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 8 sts 3 times. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 50-48 cm.
Assembly: Insert a marking thread from top to bottom in the centre of the 5 sts mid front. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread, 1st seam = ½ st from the MT, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut mid front. Sew side seams. Sew the shoulder seams. Pick up approx 120 sts along left front piece on needle size 3 mm with blue and work Edge. Repeat along right front piece but after 1 cm make 6 buttonholes evenly distributed. 1 buttonhole = cast off 3 sts and cast on 3 new sts on return row – remember buttonholes on the piece in stocking sts to be folded towards WS! Pick up approx 106 sts round the neck on needle size 3 mm with blue and work Edge, but work 3 cm stocking st instead of 5 cm. Sew sleeve seam at top and set in sleeves. Fold all edges double towards WS and fasten. Sew on buttons.
