Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2. The diagram shows the pattern from the RS side.
Moss st: First row: K1, P1. Second row: P over K and K over P. Repeat second row.
Front and back piece: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front.
Cast on 160-164-168 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 3 cm moss st. Change to needle size 5 mm and continue in M.1, at the same time inc 32-44-48 sts evenly on first row = 192-208-216 sts. After M.1 work next row as follows: 3 sts navy blue, M.2, 110-126-134 sts navy blue, M.2 but mirrored, 3 sts navy blue. Continue in pattern like this. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 31-33-35 cm work next row as follows from RS: 46-50-52 sts = front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 92-100-104 sts = back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 46-50-52 sts = front piece. Now complete each piece separately.
Front piece: = 46-50-52 sts. Dec to shape the armhole on every other row: 2 sts 1-2-3 times and 1 st 1-3-2 times = 43-43-44 sts. When piece measures 48-50-52 cm dec to shape the neckline towards mid front on every other row: 6-7-7 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 2 times and then on every 4th row: 1 st 2 times. At the same time after M.2 complete piece in navy blue. Cast off, piece measures 58-60-62 cm.
Back piece: = 92-100-104 sts. Dec for armhole and continue in pattern as described for front piece = 86-86-88 sts. When piece measures 56-58-60 cm cast off the middle 28-30-30 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on neckline on next row Cast off as described for front piece.
Sleeve: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 36-40-40 sts on double pointed needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 3 cm moss st. Change to needle size 5 mm, continue in M.1 and inc 10-6-8 sts evenly on first row = 46-46-48 sts (make sure to place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve). At the same time after the moss st inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 23-23-22 times as follows: size S + M on every 3rd and 4th round alternately, size L on every 4th round = 92-92-92 sts (incorporate inc sts in pattern as you go along). After M.1 complete piece in navy blue. When piece measures 45-46-46 cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and complete piece back and forth on needle. Dec to shape the sleeve cap on every other row 5 sts 5 times and cast off. Piece measures approx 51-52-52 cm.
Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 80 to 90 sts along left front piece on needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 3 cm moss st back and forth on needle, cast off. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm make 5 buttonholes evenly distributed on row. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 92 to 96 sts round neckline on needle size 3.5 mm with navy blue and work 3 cm moss st back and forth on needle, cast off. Set in sleeves. Sew on buttons.
