Томас Кинкейд широко признан как один из ведущих среди современных "художников света". В его технике живописи использованы методы американских художников конца девятнадцатого века, известных как Люминисты (Luminists).

Все картины Томаса Кинкейда излучают свет, как бы приглашая зрителей забыть о своих проблемах, стрессе и предаться сладкой ностальгии по своему беззаботному детству, когда весь окружающий мир был окрашен совершенно другими красками.
В своих работах Томас подчеркивает свет, тепло и уют окружающего мира. Уютные коттеджи, реки, мосты, беседки в саду, загородные старинные кладбища, городские пейзажи и даже огромные улицы мегаполисов и небоскребы - постоянные объекты полотен Томаса Кинкейда. Но всегда на этих полотнах они сияют, везде мягкие края, теплая палитра и общее ощущение света!
