I hope you’re as excited as me about this new stitch pattern, the crochet wave stitch. It has wonderful texture and definition which make it unique and perfect for your next project!
Stitch tutorials are a new part of my YouTube channel available for free for anyone to watch and enjoy. I plan on adding new and fun stitches as I come across them. You may remember the Vintage Fan Ripple I uploaded a while back. I’m still stitching away on my afghan! The Textured Wave Stitch is the newest member of the Crochet Stitches playlist. It is easy enough for a beginner to crochet but is sure to impress! Let’s go ahead and talk supplies.
As I mentioned above, this pattern is suitable for any weight yarn. I have only tested it in worsted weight and I recommend using this size to get the hang of the stitch before jumping into a project. It is always a good idea to work a test swatch in the yarn you wish to use for the project. Another thing to keep in mind with this pattern is that it is not reversible. Although the texture on the opposite side still looks pretty neat, it does not look the same as the texture on the front side. Here are photos of both:
Let’s go ahead and get started shall we?
