Materials Needed:
Template - Click here 1/16” thick X 1” wide Basswood Razor Saw and miter box and/or Exacto Dremel with Sanding drum and/or Sandpaper Flat toothpicks Aleene's Tacky Glue Ruler Pencil
Approx. time to complete this project: 20 minutes
Step#1 - Print the template out on cardstock and cut out. Transfer template patterns onto Basswood or wood of your choice. Cut out using Razor saw and miter box and/or Exacto knife.
Step#2 - To define and smooth curves & edges, use Dremel with Sanding drum and/or sandpaper.
Step#3 - Using Ruler and Pencil find the center of the top. This can be accomplished by drawing an “X” from corner to corner. Mark lightly with pencil on the bottom or under side of the top. Next find the center of the stretcher bar by measuring 1 1/16” along the top and mark lightly with pencil.
Step#4 - Add Tacky glue to the top of the stretcher bar and both sides (Don’t put any glue on the curved edge). Line up the center mark on the stretcher bar to the center mark on the top. Press gently.
Step#5 - Add glue to the top of the Side pieces and place on either end of the stretcher bar. Press gently - making sure that the edges of the side are even with the top. Using the flat toothpicks, gently wipe away any excess glue. Be careful not to move any of the pieces. Leave upside down to dry.
Step#6 - Paint or stain as desired.
