The illustrator and contemporary painter Francine Van Hove paints gentle, sensuous portraits of women in day-to-day poses. She always paints with a live model and has a particular mastery of transparent skin tones. Beauty, refinement, sensuality and meditation are the prominent themes of her work.
She is inspired by daily life, painting and literature. Her masters are La Tour, Ingres, Degas, the painters of the Italian Renaissance and Dutch painting.
