[275x338]W eizhen Liang is an artist member of the California Art Club. She earned a BA in the major of Chinese Literature from Ji Nan University of Guang Zhou in China. She showed early interest in art and was influenced by her aunt, Zhong An-Zhi, a famous painter and professor in the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In 1998, Weizhen began studying painting seriously from her husband Huihan Liu, a renowned painter who graduated from the Academy.
They have lived just over a decade in the East Bay of San Francisco. Weizhen is represented by the Sylvan Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, and Germanton Gallery in Germanton, North Carolina.
She is an invited artist of the Northwest Rendezvous Group in Montana in 2003 and 2004. The painting "Salute to Bonnard" was selected as show image of Northwest Rendezvous by Southwest Art magazine in August 2003. The paintings " Rose Dream" and "Snow White" both received awards of "Top Fifty" from Salon International 2004 at Greenhouse Gallery. Her painting "Summer Garden" was exhibited in the 2003 West/Southwest Mountain Regional Show at Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA. "Roses in Morning " was selected by the 11th National Oil Painters of America Show in April 2002 at the Hilligoss Galleries of Chicago, and "My Rose Garden" was selected by OPA to the 2001 West/Northwest Mountain Juried Exhibition in Springville Museum of Art in Utah. Weizhen's painting "Tibetan Prayer" was received awards of "Top 40" by Greenwich Workshop's in Small Works North America 2007.
Weizhen has also completed an advanced painting study program at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art in China in 2009.
Impressionist still life artist, Weizhen Liang, was born and raised in China. Her early interest in the arts focused on the written word and she received her BA degree in Chinese literature from Ji Nan University of Guang Zhou in China. Weizhen's aunt, An-Zhi Zhonng, was a well respected painter and professor at the Guang Zhou Academy of Fine Arts and she studied with her from an early age. By 1995 she had met and married artist, Huihan Liu, and continued her studies with him. Weizhen and Huihan moved to the San Francisco area several years ago where they now live and paint.
Weizhen is a member of the Oil Painters of America and was a guest artist at the 2003 Northwest Rendezvous Exhibition in Montana. Weizhen's soft color palette and gentle, airy brush strokes combine to create paintings of uncommon beauty and tranquility.
