Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.
Baking is the perfect activity on a rainy day; invite some friends over for a cake pop workshop, or make them with your kids.

You will need:
- 1/2 cake (any sponge cake)
- 3 tablespoons frosting or thick vanilla custard
- chocolate / sprinkles or other decorations / marzipan
Crumble the cake into a large bowl or pan, then add the frosting or custard and mix into the crumbled cake.
the mixture should be moist enough to roll into small balls and still hold a round shape. You could use a mold for this as I’ve done here.
This mold has a top as well to ensure perfectly round cake pops.
Now place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
One at a time, dip the tip of a lollipop stick into some melted chocolate, and then insert the lollipop stick straight into a cake ball, pushing it no longer than halfway through. Repeat with the remaining cake balls, then return to the freezer for another 10 minutes.
I use white Callebaut chocolate here, and to acheive a vintage color I like to add a little lime green chocolate.
To acheive this pale peachy color – add a little strawberry chocolate to the white chocolate.
Now dip the entire cake ball into the melted chocolate of your choice until it is completely covered.
Rotate the lollipop stick stick if necessary to allow the excess chocolate to fall off evenly.
Repeat with the remaining cake balls.
I decorated my cake pops with a small rose… so cute.
These beautiful silk ribbons inspired my choice of colors today.
I made these decorations using silicone molds and white marzipan with a tiny drop of food coloring.
These are the colors I’ve used here:
- yellow from Wilton
- pink from Squire kitchen
- sky blue from Wilton
- turquoise from Americolor
