10 HOME-MADE SAUCES THAT CAN REPLACE MAYONNAISE

Mayonnaise can easily be replaced with lighter sauces, which will bring a fresh note to familiar dishes. These delicious dressings for salads, meat and fish dishes are very easy to prepare, they consist of simple and affordable ingredients.

Therefore, we made for you a selection of sauces that make up an alternative to mayonnaise.

Sour cream sauce

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. l. lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 7 tbsp. l. sour cream
  • Salt and pepper - to taste

Preparation:

Mix to a homogeneous mass of butter, lemon juice, mustard, salt, pepper. Add sour cream and mix.

Suitable for all salads where mayonnaise is required. You can smear on sandwiches.

Garlic-yoghurt sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened yogurt
  • 1/2 head of garlic
  • 5 tbsp. l. olive oil

Preparation:

Peel the garlic and pass through the press. Beat blender with yoghurt. Then add the oil and beat again. Salt to taste. You can add greens.

Sauce from yogurt

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 boiled yolks
  • 5 tbsp. l. kefir
  • a few drops of lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp. l. cottage cheese
  • 0.5 tsp. mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Put all the ingredients in a blender and whisk for 10 minutes. The sauce is ideal for filling meat and vegetable salads.

Peanut sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp. l. peanut butter (paste)
  • 180-200 ml of water
  • 4 tbsp. l. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l. sesame oil
  • 3 tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. l. shredded sunflower seeds

Preparation:

Peel the pea paste with water, pour into a pan and bring to a boil over low heat.Add the sesame oil and mix. Add soy sauce and apple cider vinegar. Fry the seeds in a dry frying pan until golden. Add the seeds into the sauce and mix.

Tartar sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 boiled yolks
  • juice half a lemon
  • 120 ml of olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 100 g of green onion
  • 1 pickled cucumber
  • 5-6 green olives
  • salt, pepper to taste

Preparation :

Yolks pound, add salt, pepper, lemon juice to them and mix thoroughly. Pour in the olive oil while stirring. When the sauce thickens, add finely chopped onions, olives, cucumber and a clove of garlic, squeezed through a press.

This sauce is good to serve fish, seafood and vegetables.

Cream-cheese sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 175 g of hard cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 200 g of cream
  • nutmeg ground
  • salt, pepper to taste

Preparation:

Pour the cream into a saucepan, heat over low heat and add the grated cheese.After 5 minutes, put the garlic, passed through the press, and a pinch of nutmeg.Add salt and pepper and cook for 3 more minutes on low heat.

This sauce is an exquisite addition to mushrooms and chicken.

Curry sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of natural yogurt
  • 1 tsp. curry
  • 1 sweet and sour apple

Preparation:

Peel the apple, cut it very finely and, until it has darkened, immediately mix with yogurt and curry. This sauce is good for poultry and vegetables.

Creamy sauce with horseradish

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. l. grated white horseradish
  • 200 ml cream with 20% fat content
  • 0.5 tsp. garlic in granules
  • half-pie of green onion
  • salt, pepper to taste

Preparation:

Cream, horseradish, salt and garlic are placed in a saucepan and bring to a boil.Remove from heat and add finely chopped onions. The sauce is ready, you can serve it with vegetables and meat.

Sour-and-soy sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of sour cream
  • 1 tbsp. l. soy sauce
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 5 drops of balsamic vinegar
  • dill

Preparation:

Cut the greens very finely, pass the garlic through the press. Put all the ingredients in a blender and grind until smooth.

Cucumber-cheese sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cucumber
  • 6 tbsp. l. sour cream
  • 200 g soft cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tsp. chopped dill

Preparation:

Grate the cucumber and squeeze the juice lightly. Add sour cream, cheese, dill and garlic. Stir well until smooth.
