Loosely CO 186 (190, 202, 214) sts.

Row 1 (RS): * K2, P2, rep from * to last 2 sts, end with K2. Work in K2 P2 ribbing as established until piece measures 5½" (5½", 6", 6½") from beg, ending with a RS row.

Next row (WS): * P2tog, K2tog, rep from * to last 2 sts, end with P2tog — 93 (95, 101, 107) sts rem.

Body

Work Chevron Pattern: Beg with st 7 (6, 3, 10) of Chart A,
then rep the 10 sts of Chart A 4 (4, 4, 5) times, work Chart B, rep
the 10 sts of Chart C 4 (4, 4, 5) times, end with first 4 (5, 8, 1) st of Chart C. Continue working in pattern until piece measures 22½" (22½", 23", 23½"), ending with a RS row.

Lower Border

Next row (WS): {P1, m1} 5 (5, 6, 7) times, then rep {P1, m1, K1, m1} to last 5 (5, 6, 7) sts, then rep {P1, m1} to end of row — 186 (190, 202, 214) sts.

Next row: {K1, m1, P1, m1} 5 (5, 6, 7) times, then work in K2 P2 ribbing to last 10 (10, 12, 14) sts, then rep {m1, P1, m1, K1} to end of row — 206 (210, 226, 242) sts.

Work in K2 P2 ribbing as established for 1", ending with a RS row.

Next row (WS): {P2, K2} 5 times, then P2, m1, K2, m1, then rep {K2, P2} to last 24 sts, m1 K2, m1, P2, then rep {K2, P2} to end of row.

Next row: {K2, P2} 6 times, m1, K1, m1, P1, then rep {K2, P2} to last 28 sts, K2, P1, m1, K1, m1, then rep {P2, K2} to end of row.

Finishing

Fold piece in half with wrong sides together, with collar ribbing lying over lower border ribbing. Sew each side from the ribbed edges toward the center fold for 8" (7½", 6¾", 6½").
