Старинные анатомические модели и детские медициские патологии. 18-19 век.

Меня давно просили выложить картинки на эту тему, здесь только малая часть: экспонаты из Музея медицинской истории Мюттера и выставки старинных медицинских редкостей из европейских музеев в Университете Алабамы.
Такие экспонаты делали с 17-го века, некоторые анатомические восковые скульптуры- как живые, с настоящими волосами и ресницами, я их показывала в прошлых постах.

Музей медицинской истории Мюттера (Mutter Museum of Medical History) - это музей медицинских патологий, старинного медицинского оборудования и биологических экспонатов, расположенный в Колледже врачей Филадельфии (College of Physicians of Philadelphia), открытого Бенджамином Франклином.

В 1750 году совет попечителей выкупил для университета здание, построенное для евангелистского молельного дома, и в 1751 году там начались занятия. По предложению Франклина колледж принял девиз «Законы без морали бесполезны» (Leges sine Moribus vanae).

Один из главных экспонатов Музея Мюттера - Гарии Истлак, человек, при жизни страдавший прогрессирующей оссифицирующей фибродисплазией (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, FOP) - заболеванием, при котором происходит формирование лишних костей на месте синяка или раны.
