JaMMeR: Я впервые услышал о французской группе Noir Desir, когда их лидер Bertrand Cantat случайно в ссоре убил свою подругу - известную актрису Marie Trintignant. В прессе в течение нескольких месяцев активно обсуждался этот случай, который произошел в одной из Вильнюсских гостиниц. Пластинки Noir Desir стали необычайно популярны. Сначала я решил, что это не больше, чем скандальная популярность, но когда услышал одну из их песен, кардинально изменил свое мнение: группа действительно играет превосходную музыку...

А та первая услышанная мною песня называется Le vent nous portera (Ветер унесет все). На мой вкус она просто великолепна и по музыке, и по тексту, и по исполнению... Мне сложно представить человека, которому не понравилась бы эта красивая грустная песня...

I don't understand French and it was interesting for me whether the lyrics of "Le vent nous portera" are as beautiful as the melody. My colleague Daniela Hubrich took time to make a draft English translation of the lyrics. It seems poetry is not worse than music. Below I will cite the translation for those who like me want to know what the song is about. Daniela is a professional translator but her native tongue is German and she usually translates only into this language.
