*Chasing the Aurora in Alaska*
A few weeks ago Paul Weeks and I flew into Fairbanks then headed to Denali National Park and Preserve to chase the Aurora. We only ended up getting one night of strong activity, but explored a lot and still came back with some nice photos. -20 F is no joke!
This was my first time in Alaska, which completes my task of visiting each of the 50 US States. Now on to the 196 countries of the world...

MUSING SWITCHBACK
In Lana'i, on your way to Shipwreck Beach, day or night, every switchback on the road is greeted by a disturbingly beautiful view of Maui and Moloka'i, worth a stop and a musing moment.

HOLY HALEAKALA!
I know many people who have said that the summit of Haleakala in Maui (10,000 feet) is their favorite place on Earth. Can you blame them?
This is the only *composite* image of my entire Hawai'i Nights photo collection (over 100 images, plus the book). The contributing image, taken just a bit earlier, adds detail to the lingering clouds over the crater. Thank you for sharing!

Pscychadelic scapes
This scene at Whitecliff in reality already evokes a sense of unreality. Hence I've gone with presenting in that fashion. I would love to return here when the 2 distant wet streaks on the wall are also waterfalls after rain.
