*The Sentinal*
With my geologist hat on, I'm always on the lookout for interesting rock formations and erosion patterns. I came across this little known gem a few years ago and have wanted to shoot it at night for a while. Located on the far west coast of Western Australia.

In early June the Milky Way and Zodiacal light meet at the horizon at sunset in far western Australia. Best seen at a remote location far from city lights.

*Earth, Air, Fire, Water*
The essential elements of the ancients. I wonder where the Aurora fitted in?
Two cameras were running the night of March 17. This is the view from the 2nd location at the same moment as my 'Fire in the Sky' shot. The 2nd cam did an all night timelapse, with camera positioned about 10 cm above a rock pool.
Contos Beach, Western Australia, March 17 2013.

"Pacific Milky Way"
The Milky Way shining bright over the Pacific Ocean. This shot was taken at the southern edge of the Big Sur Coastline. We took a camping trip out there to capture astrophotography, however we got locked into heavy cloud coverage. The last 2 days were a constant struggle to fine clear skies. We found this one gap in between the skies looking south west and decided to stop for some photos.
