[показать]I've been watching House for a while, but have never followed the seasons. Mostly, I happened to come across random episodes while switching the channels, which, even though giving me some idea of what was going on in lives of the characters, left many of the questions unanswered. Although I have never considered myself to be a big fan of medical shows -- until it began to suck big time, I used to watch Grey's Anatomy solely because of all the exciting relationships between the interns, residents, and attendings -- I got somewhat hooked on House despite the fact that medical cases, not personal lives of the characters, take the front stage in this show.

A few weeks ago, I've decided to start watching the show from the very beginning in order to figure out where all the new characters came from, and how come House got into a psych ward in the beginning of the sixth season. So far, I can say that even though medical stories are undoubtedly superior to those in Grey's Anatomy, I have always been and still am much more interested in Mr. House himself. Actually, I think that the only reason I watch the show is the fact that I find this crippled, unpleasant, and not at all handsome middle aged man to be extremely hot. Strangely enough, I do not feel this way about the actor who plays House. I sure am not partial to Hugh Laurie's British accent, but this is pretty much the only hot thing about him.

Call me shallow, but I pay way too much attention to looks when determining whether or not I want to have anything to do with a guy. While I'm not into men who have nothing to offer except for their handsome appearance, I'm just as little interested in unattractive guys who are otherwise wonderful people. Even more, I am so shallow that I've recently refused to go on a date with a very cute guy just because he is not a very sharp dresser. So, anyway, returning to House, I can say that I haven't found a character to be this hot since Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson got all old and disgusting and stopped playing badass heroes that keep saving the world over and over again. How, however, can you compare crippled House to handsome guys from Die Hard and Lethal Weapon?

I guess, the only explanation of my affection for Mr. House is that I might be not as shallow as I thought. Perhaps, I do not find cute guys in bad pants worthy of going out with not because I am too picky but because they are not interesting and mysterious enough. Had a real life version of Gregory House taken an interest in me, I wouldn't have given our almost thirty years age difference, his not very handsome looks, and a limp much thought. Unfortunately, it seems that men whose personality is intriguing enough to compensate for their hardly average looks, live only in the world of fiction. Therefore, I have no choice but to keep concentrating on looking for the one who combines House's intelligence, Korben Dallas' personality, Sergeant Martin Riggs' looks, and Brad Pit's ass to complete the package :))
