1. To pay through the nose - to pay too much
2. To follow one's nose - to go straight ahead
3. To keep one's nose clean - to keep out of trouble, especially trouble with law
4. To have one's nose in the air - to behave as if you are better than someone else
5. To have one's nose in the book - to be reading
6. To lead someone by the nose - to have complete control over someone so they do everything you want them to do
7. To put someone's nose out of joint - to make someone jealous, especially by taking their place as the centre of attention
8. To keep one's nose to the grindstone - to work very hard for a long time without thinking about anything else
