I was born in this little hamlet called Sherwood Park, in the province of Alberta, Canada. For whatever reason my parents registered me in dance classes when I was a little kid. My first memories of being small are all about dance. I remember marching in a circle with a plastic drum in a hall/barn in Sherwood Park and I remember being a star in first grade and getting to wear a tu-tu for the first time.

When I was in first grade my mom rented me the movie Girls Just Want to have Fun staring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. In the movie, SJP competes to become a regular in DANCE TV. This movie is the reason that i wanted to become a dancer, and I still try to watch it at least once a year.

I knew at a very young age that I was meant to be onstage. I never really wanted to be involved in anything else. When I was in fifth grade I made it into our little dance studios company called "Dance Elite" and we got to perform at malls and do little shows throughout my area. We also got to travel to some dance competitions all over the states. I never won anything but I always liked being there. I was a really bad dancer with a really big head and really long limbs growing up. But when I entered high school, I decided that instead of going to the community high school with all my friends that I would take the bus everyday into the city of Edmonton and go to the Performing Arts High School. It was the best decision ever.

In addition to taking my regular classes I got to take ballet, jazz, choreography, musical theatre, and drama classes as well. I also changed dance studios that year and made my way over to one of the best dance studios in Western Canada, "Shelley's Dance Company." This is where I finally began to find my skin and balance as a dancer. I worked my tail off. In addition to being in school and working a part time job, I was taking 4 days of classes per week, and rehersing and competing on the weekends.

Finally in my senior year of high school I started auditioning for some jobs in Vancouver and Toronto. I worked at this seedy bar every night selling shooters and saved up the money to be able to fly to these cities and make my dreams come true. As fate would have it, I did not have to wait too long. At my second professional audition in Toronto for Norwegian Cruise Line, I was hired on the spot and ended up leaving high school 5 days later for rehersals in Miami. It was weird that while everyone I knew was sitting in class, I was cruising around the islands.

Working on ships was a tough experience for me. It was a big change being away from my home and dealing with the hard life of being a professional, but I loved it. I stayed almost 2 years, and traveled throughout Alaska, the Panama Canal, Mexico, the Carribean, Columbia & Costa Rica. I got off ships and decided to move to NYC. With very little money in my pocket I took a 3 day Greyhound ride to the island of Manhattan.

Since moving to Manhattan almost 5 years ago I have be so blessed to live in this wonderful city and create the kind of career for myself that most dancers only dream of!! NO DAY BUT TODAY!
