 [показать] When on the 1st of April in 1983 this little man was born, nobody didn’t even suspect that after a few years gone by this dark-brown-eyed boy would become an utter idol. It is all began with the sport, when being 4 years-old, Sergey started doing gymnastics. Taking parts and winning the competitions, he knew well, if he wants to reach something he must work as hard as ever to be over the top. But his love to music and his dream about big stage were much more srtonger, and he has little by little walked away from sport. He continued taking parts in different ensembles and finally he has won the competition.
‘When I realized that my childhood had come to an end I did comprehend it’s neccessary to carry on what I’ve started. For a time I didn’t know what would be the next step. And then it is all happened on its own.’ Vlad became his best friend, with whom they both used to sing in “Rolling Stones”. This duet immediately became very popular amidst the russian fans army just because they both (Vlad and Sergey) frankly wanted to say something when singing their songs, wanted to get the message to the people. They wanted to perform their qualitative music on the very high and professional level. It’s all started with a victory in the “International Competition of Young Singers of Popular Music”. (New Wave in Urmala 2002). Duet bursted into first place of different charts and hit-parades with lightning speed. During not quite three years lads have become the prize-winners of different premiums and winners of the most prestigious awards.
The band “SMASH!!” was the dream of Russian show-buisness and by the irony of fate the song “Dream” became the superpopular duet’s last song. All the sufferings and pain of fans couldn’t be discribed in words, when they realized that the band has broken up FOREVER. Nobody could beleive it. Nobody could imagine it. Lots of rumours, gossips and mutual insults have been said and therefore they just added fuel to the fire. These always questions “Who’s to blame” and “What to do” worried everybody and caused an irritation and hostility.
Vlad continued performing as “SMASH!!” but on the stage he was alone. Sergey has made up his mind to start his own career and to sing by himself. ‘Being in “SMASH!!” we had set very high standards’ - says Sergey - ‘and I’m really glad that I had an opportunity to collaborate with professionals of world-level, producers and musicians, authors and arrangers. When I started my own career, my experience that I had gained in ”SMASH!!” proved useful to me so much. After I had had worked in “SMASH” I just had to use all my skills and expereince to make my start very high and special. Many people would have fallen into depression, would have given up but Sergey could take himself in hand, he could build a new band and start all over again. Critics didn’t believe in his success. Not because they didn’t believe his talent, but they considered that you can’t enter the same river twice and the struggling was beyond his power. But his closest friends, his strong-willed character and his true fans didn’t let him to break. These six months of silence and uncertainty for the fans meant six months of infinite tears and nerves after band’s break-up. These six months seemed like years, but as the result of it there was the very first and, certainly, the most important song in Sergey’s career - “Eye of the Storm”. In the middle of 2005 year Sergey goes to South Africa for making a video of this song. And after this video people have realized, this “dark-hair boy from “SMASH!!”“has a very big and successful future. The debut of the song was on “LOVE RADIO”, though his song has been abandoned by many radio stations.
‘I felt that people’s attitude to me has quickly changed. It’s like he’s not a big star anymore. Total looser. My first song was played on Radio and TV with a big crack. They didn’t want to play it at all. Many people were sure that in situation like this I would simply dissapear and nobody would know anything about me, they would never hear me again’ - says Sergey.
His fans were delighted. And his new motto was the refrain phrase: I live my life the way I want and Choose. And he has been always on the first pages of many magazines and papers with the announce: “Lazarev has broken loose”.
Since 27th of July till 31st July there had been taking place an International competition in Urmala “New Wave In Urmala 2005”. Sergey performed his first time as a solo singer. Show-buisness has seen the new Lazarev with his brand new ambitions and plans. Along with these events, there’s been some changes in Lazarev’s theatrical life. He had to leave theatre because of his very active career in “SMASH!!”. He decided to return in theatre in spite of all this critics few and far between.
‘ Theatre it’s like the muscles. If you don’t train them - you lose them’.. - says Sergey. ‘Theatre is for a soul and I’d like to have an opportunity to play, and I’ll be trying to save a time for it. But now I have rehearsals for a new perfomance. And I don’t even know how I’ll be dealing with all there things!’ The aim was too high - Sergey had to take the centre part in his new perfomance called “Borrow the tenor”. Firstly, it was an altogether new genre. Secondly, he knew he will be estimated at the very strong point. Premier was on the 29th and 30th of September. Spectators and critics had to admit, that the perfomance was absolutely fantastic. It was unbelievable. The fans rushed to cash-boxes. Next morning Lazarev flew to Mayami to make a new video called “Lost Without Your Love”. The video was making on a big villa. It was located next to Ricky Martin’s. Everything in this video was brilliant: the subject, the plotting, the montage, the beautigeul picture. This video is still favourite video of all Lazarev fans. To be fair, this video has been banned on many channels and Sergey must make a new version.
He also began to work on his first solo in England during the summer. The very famous english producer Brayan Roling helped him a lot. Sergey co-produced all his songs on the album. Along with foreign stars Sergey recorded songs. And this album was released at the end of November 2005. It was unbelievable. An altogether different kind of music. 11 songs featuring a cover of George Michael ‘s famous song “Shattered Dreams”. On the 14th of December Sergey gave an autograph-session and performed most of his songs from new album alive.
On the 28th of October Lazarev has shown his new work - a song called “Even if you walk away”, which has become the most wanted on his concerts. This song literally bursts all the charts. In March of 2006 Sergey along with his general manager Asya Kalyasina decided to make a reality show called “Being Sergey Lazarev”. He announced a competition, wherein he planned to find the most freak fan, dreaming of being in his place. When he had chosen the best ones he started to teach them dancing, vocaling, acting, lyrics learning and all kind of things, which could help the winners to reincarnate into famous stars, but later the owners of this competition made up their mind that to make “Sergey Lazarev number 2” would be silly and it wouldn’t make any sense, because every participant of this show is an individual person. Sergey Lazarev has been awarded as “The most beautiful people of Moscow”. On the 13th of July released a new edition of his album featuring singles and remixes on songs “Fake”, “Do it for me” and the original version and remix of “Even if you walk Away”. He has won lots of different awards and nominations such as: “The best acting debute of 2005-2006”, “Break-through of the year” and much more. But he has never forgotten about his job. In June in London he started recording his second album, collaborating with Brayan Roling. Sergey decided to try himself in a new ampoule - DJ. It’s quite bizzare, that everything he touches - turns into a gold.
[250x400] 20 August of 2006 released the premier of a new Star project “Dances on the Ice”. During the hole project Sergey’s couple had been leading and performing the most difficult programms. Dance accompanied by Lara Fabian song “Je’ taime” will stay in the hearts of figure skating lovers for a long time. And the couple’s perfomance at the final was so briliant and all the umpires gave them the highest points 6.0. And the couple took the first place. But after a quite suspecting voting Sergey “came second”. But lots of people concidered him as the winner. Sergey has never forgotten about his job - the music.
13 September, thankfully to the fan’s effort, Sergey has won the “Celebrion - 2006”.
14 September Sergey won one his the most important awards. On “RMA 2007” he has been nominated as “The best performer of the year” 17 October took place annual ceremony “Top Sexy”. Sergey has been awarded and has been given an exclusive statuette for “The sexiest singer of the year”. 29 November on the “Million Fair” exibition took place a ceremony “100 Most Invited”. Sergey has won the “Star 2007” award. He didn’t expect to win this award and he told to everybody that he really didn’t. He was so confused when he had found out that this award was like an advance for future success. And he promised he will be working hard to improve that. And he has done it and proved to everybody what he is all about.
25 November of 2006 in Kremlin took place annual national bounty called “Gold Gramophone”. And Sergey has been it, being the solo singer for his song “Even if you walk away”.
And 19 December Sergey became a prize-winner of annual ceremony “The best of the best” and has been awarded with Order of the Russian Herald House. And at the end of the year Lazarev has been called the best singer of the year by plenty of internet editions and companies. 11 February of 2007 Sergey has been given an “Zvykovaya Dorogka” umpire. He has been nomintated as “Soloist of the year” and he has won it. He kept touring throughout the Russia with his “Don’t be fake” programm set.
[250x330] 4 march the new huge project has been started on the 1st channel. Many famous russian stars took part in it again. ‘I’ve never become mad about anything, but the circus’ - Sergey says. On the stage he appeared before spectators in brand new characters: an illusionist, trainer, gymnast, clown, an acrobat and he always has been given the highest points.
And 16th of May the country found out that after SMS voting Segey became a winner of “Circus with Stars” show. He shared this victory with his fans, who came for supporting him that perfect day.
His second album released on the 10th of May. This album was absolutely dancing, there are 2 ballads though. It’s real foreign music, it differs from music in Russia. He climbed one step furher. He voiced one of the heroes in “Shreck 3” movie.
16 July in England released his “Shattered Dreams” single - a cover-version of “Johnny Hates Jazz” band.
16 July the single appeared in Eglish stores “Virgin”, “HMV”. And this was just the first step of conquering the foreign music undustry. Since 6th of August till 11th new videos “Girlfriend” and “TV or Radio” had been making. Also there had been a photo-shoots with Sergey Lazarev. The photographer was the famous man, who worked with Paul McCartney, Madonna, Bred Pitt, Robbie Williams.
In the near future Lazarev plans to record an album in England. And, you know, when you see all this successful and fame of Sergey - he wishes to perform at Wembley - and this wish doesn’t seem impossible. Sergey Lazarev has been proving to everybody that impossible is nothing in this world. |
