If the censure of the Yahoos could any way affect me, I should have great reason to complain, that some of them are so bold as to think my book of travels a mere fiction out of mine own brain, and have gone so far as to drop hints, that the Houyhnhnms and Yahoos have no more existence than the inhabitants of Utopia.

I hear some of our sea Yahoos find fault with my sea-language, as not proper in many parts, nor now in use. I cannot help it. От сексуального насилия и агрессии страдают около трети всех женщин и около 20% детей обоих полов (девочки чаще) - эти данные коррелируют по разным странам. Секс часто портит отношения между людьми, вбивает клин между друзьями, стимулирует неискренность и "игру без правил".

Если бы энергия, которую человечество тратит на утоление похоти, была направлена на более достойные цели, цивилизация достигла бы гораздо больших успехов, а вот разрушительных конфликтов - как межличностных, так и социальных - было бы во много раз меньше.

Кроме того, секс не так уж безвреден для здоровья, как это принято считать, и может стимулировать развитие ряда болезней, притом не только инфенкционных; есть данные, свидетельствующие о негативном влиянии секса на продолжительность жизни.

Такова чисто практическая сторона дела. Углубляясь в высокие материи, можно добавить, что секс (т.е. потворство низменным инстинктам) и совершенствование личности - несовместимы. У верующих имеются и дополнительные аргументы. Кроме того, секс отвратителен с чисто эстетической точки зрения.
