История этой рэпкор-команды началась в 1993 году в Северной Калифорнии, где в городишке Вакавилль собрались вместе четыре парня, Джерри Хортон (гитара), Коби Дик (Якоби Шаддикс, вокал), Уилл Джеймс (бас) и Дэйв Букнер (ударные), чтобы вместе играть свою любимую музыку. Взяв ориентацию на творчество "Faith no more" и "Primus", музыканты удачно смешали хип-хоп, фанк и хардкор. Название "Papa Roach" получилось трансформацией имени дедушки Коби Роач (Roatch). Команда довольно быстренько взлетела на вакавилльской сцене, перебравшись с небольших вечеринок в солидные клубы.
Мощная энергия коллектива, сопровождаемая бесшабашными выходками на концертах Шаддикса приковывали внимание молодой аудитории. Спустя некоторое время "Papa Roach" уже вовсю выступали вместе с "Deftones", "Snot", "Downset", "Far" и другими ню-металлистами.
Летом 1996 года в составе команды была проведена замена, место Уилла Джеймса занял новый басист Тобин Эсперанс. Следующим шагом на пути к покорению вершины шоу-бизнеса стало приглашение менеджера Брета Бэйра, неплохо помогшего музыкантам на начальном этапе. После пары мини-дисков, оставшихся в общем-то незамеченными, решено было приступить к записи полнометражного альбома. Бюджет этого диска составлял "огромную" сумму в семьсот баксов. На прилавках магазинов "Old Friends From Young Year" появился в феврале 1997 года.
Состоявший из 11 треков, он включал в себя ставшие популярными в радиоэфире "Orange Drive Palms" и "Liquid Diet". Интересно то, что радиодиджеи сами крутили эти песни без всякого напряга со стороны менеджмента группы. На многих станциях "Papa Roach" стали самой заказываемой командой.
Успех в Калифорнии привлек к команде внимание небольших лейблов. Вскоре отличные выступления на разогреве у "Suicidal Tendencies" и "Incubus", а также два EP-шника "5 Tracks Deep" и "Let'em Know" заставили зашевелиться уже более крупные фирмы. Проворнее других оказался лейбл "Dreamworks", заключивший в 1999 году долгосрочный контракт с группой. И вот в 2000-м на прилавках появился студийник "Infest", принесший "Papa Roach" мировую известность и ставший трижды платиновым. Бескомпромиссные тексты, виртуозное звучание, одновременная жесткость и мелодичность - вот залог успеха этого диска. Сингл "Last Resort" с этой пластинки удостоился постоянной ротации на крупнейших радиостанциях и музыкальных каналах всего мира.
Далее последовали глобальные гастроли по Америке и Европе, прошедшие с большим успехом. Воодушевленные музыканты снова окопались в студии, результатом чего стал альбом "Lovehatetragedy".

"The Conjuring" is a horror film set in the foothills near Placerville. It involves a young married couple who are pregnant with their first child. After moving into their turn-of-the-century home, they discover evil has resided there for nearly a century, unleashed by a previous occupant. In cleaning out antique items left by previous residents, the wife comes across a "game" created by a young woman in 1920 - a spirit board. Conflict ensues when the husband forbids the wife from playing with it. The naive wife fails to respect his warnings and all Hell is unleashed into her life, robbing her of all she holds dear. Her life and soul soon hang in the balance. This feature-length film is being produced for national theater distribution and is intended for audiences ages 16 to 65. It sheds light for all audiences on the need to be on guard against evil in all its guises.

В общем, фильм называется "Колдовство" (ну, или что-то в этом роде) и смысл в том, что женатая пара (девушка ждет ребенка) переезжают в дом, где девушка находит какую-то "игру", оставленную предыдущей хозяйкой, и связывается со злом. зря это она, конечно. муж ведь предупреждал, просил не играть, а она все равно. Ее жизнь и душа лежат на чаше весов.

фильм предназначен для зрителей возрастом от 16. Обещают, что релиз состоится в середине 2007 года.
