Set decorators are painting each other's bare upper bodies, rockers are skate-boarding, blond and beautiful Swedish women are stretching in their black tights. The women are the swat-team of the new The Rasmus -music video!
The long-expected and prolonged by a paternity leave Black Roses -album is finally going to be released on 24th of September. The video for Livin' in a world without you was directed by Rasmus' trusted, Swedish Niclas Fronda.
Over 300 musicvideos have been filmed in the Mikadelica-studio.
In the leading role, besides The Ramus, is a mystical black rose.
- It's like in Stanley Kubriek's 2001: A Space Odyssey's black monolith - nobody quite knows what it is, the bassist Eero Heinonen says.
In the video the solist and the head-figure of The Rasmus, lauri Ylönen appears in a room with a beauty. They both know that the black rose is important. The woman wants the rose herself and is with Lauri just because of that.
- The girls calls the swat-team, together they try to steal the monolith from Lauri, Heinonen explains.
Backgrounds of the song are so tragic that Lauri doesn't want to savor with them.
-You can read it all between the lines. I like to let the listener's mind wonder. The lyrics fit in many people's life situation.
The plot of the video is created by Ylönen ja Fronda. Lauri has also designed the cover of the album. The rose shows up in it too.
In the video, when the rose touches something, crystal starts to grow from it.
The rose isn't the only crystal clear thing. The roaring music on the set is produced by Desmond Child. The man has brought Bon jovi from a cellar to fame, wrote 'I was made for living you' of Kiss, Alice Cooper's 'Poison' and Aerosmith's, Cher's, Ricky Martin's and other biggest hits.
The legend heard Rasmus' Dead Letters -album and was sorry for the band being from so far away Europe. The man was afraid that the band has a invariable producer. Musicians from Helsinki were reading e-mail messages sent by Desmond Child with amazement. Could this be true!
-It all started from Desmond being our fan. Desmond thought that Dead Letter was cool, Lauri says.
Expected meeting in the Caribbean culminated to a race on a putting green with golf cars. The rocking meeting was satisfying for both sides. Co-working got started and the album started processing. Recordings were made in Helsinki, Stockholm, Singapore and of course in Child's headquarters Nashville USA.
Spiky-haired singer lived in Desmond Child's mansion for two months, visited his fridge once and ate the maid-roasted eggs.
-Sunny side up. Absolutely. Relaxing. Eating some lunch, swimming. Singing for couple of hours per day. If you don't feel like it, then lets continue like tomorrow, Lauri explains the day schedule.
In the USA Lauri wrote the lyrics of Black roses album and enjoyed the easy-going freetime thinking about his achievements. The new dad told he has also got some perspective to other things he has going on in his life.
-It is a good thing to ladle from when you're alone. What if you'd be just alone? Appreciation for good friends and everything good rose. Overall it was instructive.
Working with precise men was also stressing. Lauri's pronunciation got involved. Even pronuncing the English word 'me' didn't satisfy those perfectionists. Did Lauri learn?
Laughing tells everything. Lauri asks for not telling to Desmond the truth - he still can't do that.
Right or not, Desmond Child's presence has brought some maturity to Rasmus' lyrics.
To Eero Heinonen it was the coolest thing to see what kind of human being the producer-guru is.
-Desmond thinks very boardly. He always thinks what a someone who likes the music gets from a album. It was groovy. I'm just a player myself.
How does the music of the album sound like, Lauri Ylönen?
-It's very Rasmus. Desmond has brought something new to it, made the band listen their own palying from outside, with an American side.
The album also aims for the USA's market. The point of the album is to synthesize the band's best sides on the way. It even has some rap in the style of old Rasmus and a duet sung with Anette Olson of Nightwish.
As a single and a video -to-be-released song Livin' In the World Wothout You is more mechanical than the band's earlier production. The change has came from Rasmus itself - by an accident, actually.
-LIAWWY changed the whole album's direction, even though it was made last. The other songs were mixed closer to LIAWWY's sound. Like many times, the most significant single comes last. First you try too much and then you succeed by an accident.
During video-making the boys of Rasmus are being maked and dressend up. They drink coffee and give interviews for foreign magazines. While costuming the guitarist Lauri Rantasalmi amuses the make up artists in Swedish with a dog-ralated jokes. Who claims that Finnish peopleЧитать далее...

Interview with Lauri on Yle X3M, 25.7.08
Yle X3M is a Swedish radio channel in Finland and the interview was made in Finnish so the interviewers also translated Lauri's comments into Swedish, but I'm not including those here.
I: God morgon, Lauri!
L: God morgon! (answers in Swedish)
I: How has your morning been so far?
L: It has begun well, I'm right now taking a walk in the woods.
I: Oh, well how is the weather in the woods?
L: Really good, nice smells, it's so summery here.
I: Great! You just came from Germany with The Rasmus. What did you do there?
L: Well... actually, we put the last parts of the album together and now we're ready for the great fight.
I: First you've got a single coming out, today, very soon,
Please tell us a little about the upcoming single Livin' In A World Without You.
L: It was the last song composed for the album, actually everything else was finished as we went to record this song. We still felt like we wanted to try one more time. I think it was right feeling because this song puts the album together quite well, and it's quite a lot different song to be the first single than it would have been in another case.
I: Interesting, isn't it always the the last snowboard jump that fails when you think "one more time", and then something bad happens, but not this time?
L: Yes, that makes sense but this time it was succesful. We had a little time between this song and the other substance. I think we'd got some perspective to the other stuff and we could make this song, which represents the whole album quite well.
I: How about Black Roses? How would you like to describe it?
L: It's pretty miscellaneous, Livin' In A World Without You with its sound is new for us. It's more electronic and there's little suprises comparing to our old music. There are "rap-parts", synthesizers and a club sound. In the album there's true rock too and for example the fastest song we've ever written. Altogether it's going to be an interesting album.
I: Now it feels like it's the time to listen the song. Please tell us a little more about the single.
L: Well, the song is about a tragic event that was shown in the world news, actually when the song was written. But I desire that when people hear the song, they would draw their own conclusions. But enjoy the song!
I: Yeeh, thanks, a lot of thanks Lauri, and have a nice day! And have a nice walk in the woods.

Ж: Скоро мы сможем услышать новый сингл с нового альбома. Какими словами ты бы предварил его выход?
Л: Чтож, в общем, это была последняя песня, которую мы сделали для этого альбома, весь остальной материал был уже готов, а потом нам пришла идея о немного другом типе песни и мы её сделали, несмотря на то, что это немного (нифига себе немного прим. перев.) сдвинуло дату выпуска альбома. Она хорошо соединила альбом и это оригинальный способ представить его. В сингле есть немного электроники и немного того старого Rasmus потому что там есть эта маленькая рэп часть, что может звучать немного тревожно, но достаточно хорошо в целом.
Ж: Как работает твой язык с удивительными словами рэпа?
Л: Прости, что?
Ж: Как ты преуспел в рэп частях?
Л: Ну, мы сделали этот материал ранее, когда мы начали, и это больше походит на ритмичную песню, чем на рэп. Немного больше синтетического, больше электронного чувства отлично подходит ему.
Ж: Лаури, к какой ситуации эта песня подойдёт лучше всего?
Л: Ну вообще эта песня может подойти для каких-нибудь клубов, как это не удивительно. Она была микширована парнем, который сделал много клубных миксов. В ней есть чувство вечеринки. Конечно, песня не такая быстрая, но мы искали такое умеренное чувство Depeche Mode.
Ж: Эта песня будет на вашем альбоме, который выйдет осенью, и альбом был спродюсирован легендарным Desmond Child, который продюсировал, например, Bon Jovi и Aerosmith. У тебя было чувство, что всё, к чему он прикасается, превращается в золото?
Л: Он очень талантливый и у него есть много видений и мнений, было очень интересно работать с ним. Мы научились многому, и он как бы пришел, для того чтобы отшлифовать то, что мы уже имеем. Desmond уже был нашим большим поклонником, и это было здорово, потому что он не стал придавать нам этого американского звучания, а сказал, что у нас есть наше великолепное звучание и что теперь мы просто сделаем из него бриллиант.

Музыка – это такой вид искусства, где ты должен слушать свои собственные чувства, а не думать обо всех этих жанрах и прочем. Ты просто должен делать хорошие песни с чувствами и всё будет супер.
Ж: Это искренне. Песня Living In A World Without You, дебют которой пройдёт на ylex и радио x3m. Её название даёт маленькую подсказку о том, что темой песни является классическое рок звучание. Лаури, без чего ты не можешь жить?

Ну что, вот две ссылочки, там вы можете оценить студийную версию этой песни. Мне лично понравилась очень, гораздо больше live версии, всётки live есть live. Правда песни конечно не идеальны, так как стырены, но оценить можно, а наслаждаться будем когда выйдет альбом)
UPD: Только что сам записал с радио, в хорошем качестве и без каких либо глюков

As recent news has been published the full list of black roses album.
Black Roses will be released in Finland on September 24 and the international date release will be on September 26.
Living in a world without you is the first single from the album and it will start to sound in radios on July 25 and its release as single will be on September 10 . The video will start to transmit on television in early August.
