En 1923, Marie Bonaparte lit l'Introduction а la psychanalyse de Sigmund Freud qui lui avait йtй conseillй par Gustave Le Bon. Le 29 novembre 1923 elle fait connaissance avec Renй Laforgue qui avait lu Freud dиs 1913, et avait consacrй en 1922 sa thиse de mйdecine а « L’affectivitй des schizophrиnes du point de vue psychanalytique ». Elle frйquente ses causeries, qui prйsentaient а un public restreint les premiиres notions de la psychanalyse. Elle entame une longue correspondance avec lui.

Parallиlement, elle frйquente les hфpitaux (opйrations chirurgicales du nez, des seins) et elle йcrit, sous le pseudonyme de A.E. Narjani, un article intitulй « Considйrations sur les causes anatomiques de la frigiditй chez la femme », dans lequel elle explique la frigiditй fйminine par une fixation clitoridienne induite par une distance trop grande entre le clitoris et le vagin. Elle appuie sa thиse par la mesure de la distance du clitoris et du mйat urйtral sur une population de 200 femmes, prises au hasard. Obsйdйe par son « accomplissement orgasmique », mкme aprиs son analyse avec Freud, elle ne renoncera jamais а ses convictions et se fera opйrer trois fois en Suisse afin de se faire dйplacer le clitoris[3].

Au sujet du clitoris, simple « pйnis vestigial » que Freud demande d'abandonner, elle йcrira : « Les hommes se sentent menacйs par ce qui aurait une apparence phallique chez la femme, c'est pourquoi ils insistent pour que le clitoris soit enlevй » (Marie Bonaparte, « Notes sur l'excision », Revue franзaise de psychanalyse XII, 1946).

Certains ont pu dire que la liaison de Marie Bonaparte avec Aristide Briand, pendant la Premiиre Guerre mondiale, aurait pu influencer la politique « grecque » du Prйsident du Conseil, grвce aux nombreuses conversations qu'il a eues avec son mari qui possйdait une rйelle expйrience diplomatique. Elle ne cache pas non plus ses relations avec Gustave Le Bon, le chirurgien Jacques-Louis Reverdin ou le psychanalyste Rudolph Loewenstein.

Abstract

Patients suffering from schizophrenia are less susceptible to various visual illusions. For example, healthy participants perceive a hollow mask as a normal face, presumably due to the strength of constraining top-down influences, while patients with schizophrenia do not (Schneider, U., Leweke, F.M., Sternemann, U., Weber, M.M., Emrich, H.M., 1996. Towards a cannabinoid hypothesis of schizophrenia: cognitive impairments due to a dysregulation of the endogenous cannabinoid system. Pharmacol. Biochem. Behav. 56, 803–807). However the neural mechanisms underpinning this effect remain poorly understood. We used functional magnetic resonance imaging to investigate the hollow-mask illusion in schizophrenic patients and healthy controls. The primary aim of this study was to use measures of effective connectivity arising from dynamic causal modelling (DCM) to explain differences in both the perception of the hollow-mask illusion and associated differences in neural responses between patients with schizophrenia and controls, which we hypothesised would be associated with difference in the influences of top-down and bottom-up processes between the groups. Consistent with this explanation, we identified differences between the two groups in effective connectivity. In particular, there was a strengthening of bottom-up processes, and weakening of top-down ones, during the presentation of ‘hollow’ faces for the patients. In contrast, the controls exhibited a strengthening of top-down processes when perceiving the same stimuli. These findings suggest that schizophrenic patients rely on stimulus-driven processing and are less able to employ conceptually-driven top-down strategies during perception, where incoming sensory data are constrained with reference to a generative model that entails stored information from past experience.

Шизофазия — один из симптомов шизофрении (и не только шизофрении; в частности, может также возникать после черепно-мозговых травм или в результате употребления веществ), выражающийся в расстройстве речи. Больной связывает между собой несовместимые понятия, вводя слушателей в когнитивный диссонанс. Не является синонимом афазии. Структура речи формально не нарушена, грамматических ошибок нет, но слова не несут никакого смысла. Довольно много причудливых неологизмов. Достоверно известно, что среди посетителей раздела /b/ есть больные шизофазией. Известно, что шизофазики почему-то любят ужей. Известность происходит из аудиоприложения к большой медицинской энциклопедии аж 1962 года выпуска, где на пластинке приводились примеры речи душевнобольных.

На вид здорово напоминает попытки рассуждать о глубоких и высоких материях, при этом забывая произносить вслух 9 слов из 10.
