The guys liked the ring of the name "Good Charlotte" after remembering a childhood classic book.
Benji and Joel created their own line of clothes called "MADE," while guitarist Billy branched out and started his own clothing company in 2001 called "Level 27," based on his lucky number: 27.
April Fools day is the band's anniversary
Good Charlotte grew up listening to music by rock bands of the '70s and '80s like The Clash, The Smiths and Minor Threat. But their modern-day fixation is Bay Area punk band, Green Day.
Benji and Joel even made a pilgrimage to visit the East Bay Club on 924 Gilman Street in San Francisco to see the venue where some of their favorite bands have performed.
Fellow label-mate and singer/songwriter/actress Mandy Moore made a cameo in the "Little Things" video as the heartless ex-girlfriend that would torment the boys in high school.
For "My bloody Valentine" ,the twins were inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's classic haunting, tragic tale of mad love "The Telltale Heart," and updated it to fit their own personal experiences.
Their producer is Don Gilmore who also produces Eve 6 , Lit and Linkin Park
All of GC attended La Plata High.
Benji and Joel graduated in 1997. Billy, May 2000.
The band's first photoshoot was shot by Sarah, Benji and Joel's little sister.
Cashdogg is the band's boxer dog named after Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali, the boxer.
GC appeared in the movie "Not Another Teen Movie" playing at the school's prom. They also appear in the movie's soundtrack.
Benji & Joel's father left the family when the twins were only 16 years old.
He left on Christmas Eve and they never saw him again since then.
Benji & Joel went through really hard times because of this.
Many of GC songs are about their dad: "Emotionless" and "My old man", from their 2nd cd (The young and the hopeless); "Complicated" from the 1st cd (Good Charlotte)...and so on.

Benji & Joel host a show on MTV USA called "All things rock".
Benji, Joel and Billy are vegetarians
Benji & Joel's sister, Sarah, is 18 months younger than them . Their older brother is called Josh.
Billy is the youngest member of GC.
The ring that Benji always wears is a present from Tony Lovato (Mest's lead singer), his best friend.
Inside of the ring there's the word "brothers", Tony has the same ring

Benji & Joel worked at Target, Borders, Up Against the Wall, and Giant in Waldorf.

The tattoos on Benji's fingers says "MADE MAN" (from a movie).

One of their very first show took place in a comic store.
