Today more and more people of the most different occupations spend their time in the internet. Sometimes it looks like virtual reality is replacing the true one. In such a situation there is no difference between a cosy apartment with a computer in it and a crowded market place. In the world wide web one can run against a stranger of any age, sex and origin even faster and easier than outdoors. So if we want to protect our children, keeping them locked at home is not a solution any more.
Thousands of people all over the world use online dating services and social networks, go about blogging, make shopping in internet stores and auctions. One can make friends as well as money here. In our time it's difficult to find a company or organisation which doesn't have a web site and also a young person who doesn't keep a diary in the Internet.
