On June 3, 2009 Pete Wentz posted on his [now private] Blogspot a poem with a couple of lines we recognise from the new Panic! At The Disco demo entitled “Oh Glory”. At this point it is unclear whether Pete is writing for or with the guys, if it’s just a borrowed line, or if the song will even make the final cut to the album. Below you will find the original poem as posted by Pete, highlighted are the parts we hear in the demo.

Brendon and I have been hard at work in the studio writing and doing demos of new songs for all of you. Here is a clip of a new demo we recorded this past week…it’s called ‘Oh Glory.’ (LISTEN HERE)We’re really excited about the new songs were working on and can’t wait to release more. In a few weeks we’ll set out on the Blink-182 tour which is still unbelievable to us. They’re the reason I started playing music, and I can’t wait to be a part of something so to close me. It’s been an interesting week for Panic at the Disco. First, they split in half, with guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker leaving to “embark on a musical excursion of their own.” Then, frontman Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith vowed to carry on, writing that “Panic at the Disco is alive and very, very well,” then posting photos on of them working in the studio.
But, with an album tentatively due this year and dates on the upcoming Blink-182 tour looming on the horizon, fans started to wonder: Just who will be taking Ross’ and Walker’s spots in Panic?
Urie and Smith (and their labels, Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic) weren’t about to reveal that information, which may explain why, just days after the split, rumors began circulating that 24-year-old Australian guitarist/ singer Orianthi Panagaris (or Orianthi for short) had joined Panic, replacing Ross, and would be touring and recording with them.
Now, for those who may not know, Panagaris had signed on to be part of Michael Jackson’s 50-show run at London’s O2 Arena, and can be seen prominently rocking out with him in rehearsal footage released last week; she also shared the stage with a host of others during the performance of “We Are the World” at Tuesday’s Jackson memorial. She has a solo deal with Geffen Records and has worked in the past with Prince and Steve Vai.
The rumor inexplicably started gathering steam, reaching a bit of a critical mass on Wednesday, when it appeared on Panagaris’ Wikipedia page.
However, reps for Panic quashed the rumor on Thursday (July 9). A spokesperson for Atlantic responded to MTV News with an e-mail that simply read “RUMOR,” and Jonathan Daniel, co-founder of Crush Management (which handles Panic, Fall Out Boy and a host of other acts), dismissed the whispers, writing “I have no idea who comes up with these ideas, but they probably have a future in creative writing.”

I am sad for him that he seems so lost that he has alienated his band, friends, family and mentors in his new LA lifestyle. I am sad to see the things he is involved with and the people he surrounds himself with because if they loved him they would not put an addicting substance in front of someone who has grown up in an addicts household. So yesterday was pretty nuts, right? First, Panic At The Disco guitarist/primary songwriter Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker quit the band. Then, hours later, Brendon Urie (vocals) and Spencer Smith (drums) responded to Ross and Walker’s departure, assuring fans that PATD will soldier on. Now, Alternative Press has exclusively learned that we’re just weeks away from finding out what the new Panic will sound like.
On August 25, Fueled By Ramen will issue the Jennifer’s Body movie soundtrack, which will include Panic’s first Ryan Ross-less song, “New Perspective.” According to the band’s publicist, neither Ross or Walker had any involvement in the track. The song is also scheduled to be serviced to radio on August 17, so now you know when to start calling your local request line. The Jennifer’s Body soundtrack will also feature new and unreleased material from All Time Low, Cobra Starship, Dashboard Confessional and others.

[...] Rumors are already swirling the internet regarding who will be replacing Ross and Walker on the band’s upcoming tour with Blink-182. One gossip site in particular is reporting that Matthew Murphy and Tord Overlond-Knudsen from U.K. group the Wombats will be joining the band — according to Panic’s manager, Bob McLynn, this is “not true.” He has also told us Urie and Smith have made no decision on new members as of yet, but when they do, the information will be exclusively on AltPress.com.

We just wanted to let you know, that the news of Ryan and Jon leaving the band is unfortunately true. It's been an amazing journey being in a band with them, but sometimes individual tastes take friends in different directions and you can't ignore it. They are some of the most talented guys we know, and we're sure that whatever they do next will be great. That said, Panic At The Disco is alive and very very well. We are working on new songs that we are excited for you to hear. Our dates with Blink and Fall Out Boy start in a little less than a month, and we wouldn't miss those for the world. We know everybody has a lot of questions at this point with everything being so out of the blue, most of those should be answered in the coming weeks. We appreciate every one of you, and hope you continue with us on this incredible ride.

Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic at the Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too.
