Michael Buble's new CD 'Call Me Irresponsible', remains in the top spot on album charts around the world.

In Holland, where it debuted, the album remains in the top spot for the 3rd week in a row.

In Australia, it was announced on Sunday that 'Call Me Irresponsible' was still the #1 record in the country after two weeks on the album chart.

"Irresponsible" has also reached No. 1 in Michael's native Canada, USA, Germany, South Africa, Singapore, Italy and the European Record Charts.

It has already gone platinum in Australia, Singapore, Canada (2X) and Italy and gold in Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and the UK. In addition, the record is Top 5 in Austria, Mexico, Hong Kong, Switzerland, UK, Germany and Sweden.

The album sold 1.3 million units worldwide in its first two weeks of its release.

"Michael Bublé's third studio album is the Big One," raved Stephen Holden in a recent New York Times review. Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, "Call Me Irresponsible" includes Michael’s penned radio smash "Everything" -- currently No. 5* on mediabase ac chart -- following up his previous No. 1 radio hit, "Home." Michael Buble' has just released his seventh album. We caught up with the crooner in New York for a chat about love, life and music.

Michael Buble (tickets | music)'s full US tour schedule has been revealed just as he is riding high on a No. 1 album.

The Canadian crooner will criss-cross the US beginning July 12 in Reno, NV. He's already sold out several shows, including two each in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles, according to a press release. A third performance was recently added in Chicago and third shows in the other markets are expected to be announced shortly.

Buble also has two-night stands in Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia and Seattle. Details are listed below. He'll finish the year off with a tour of Europe, dates for which can be found at his website.

Earlier this month, the singer's third studio release, "Call Me Irresponsible," debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. This week, the album claimed the No. 1 spot, selling nearly 145,000 units. The CD is also the No. 1 digital download and No. 1 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz chart.

"Call Me Irresponsible," produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, includes the Buble-penned radio hit "Everything," along with several interpretations of standards, including "I've Got the World on a String," "The Best is Yet to Come" and a gospel version of Frank Sinatra's "That's Life." The 13-song set also covers Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" and Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight."

The new record follows Buble's platinum-selling 2005 set, "It's Time," which has remained on The Billboard Traditional Jazz charts for two years and scored four Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys).

The 31-year-old singer, who has drawn comparisons to legendary crooners like Sinatra and Tony Bennett, has sold 13 million albums worldwide since bursting onto the scene in 2003, according to a press release.

Buble making the talk-show rounds ahead of his tour, having already appeared on "Oprah Winfrey" and scheduled for "Regis and Kelly" June 20.

You can call Canadian singing sensation Michael Bublé a lot better than irresponsible. As of next week his "CALL ME IRRESPONSIBLE" CD jumps to the number-one slot in the country and around the world, it was confirmed today by his record label, Warner/Reprise.

The 31-year-old Vancouver native woke up this morning by receiving the news from his long-time manager Bruce Allen that his smash CD catapulted from its No. 2 debut last week to the biggest selling record in the the country according to the Billboard Charts and Soundscan with 144,950 units sold. It is also the No. 1 digitally downloaded CD and No. 1 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts. Michael's previous Reprise albums "It's Time" and his self-titled debut also leaped ahead on the Billboard Catalogue Charts to No. 1 and No. 5 respectively.

Globally, "Irresponsible" has reached No. 1 in his native Canada, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Italy, Holland, and the European Record Charts. It has already gone platinum in Australia, Singapore, Canada (2X) and Italy and gold in Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and the UK. In addition, the record is Top 5 in Austria, Mexico, Hong Kong, Switzerland, UK, Germany, Sweden and Ireland.

Michael, a multi-platinum, Grammy nominated four-time Juno award-winning artist whose collective worldwide record sales have exceeded 13 million units, is currently in Chicago where he is scheduled to perform live with his band on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" tomorrow, May 17th. He will also be making an appearance on "Regis and Kelly" on June 20th.

On the touring front Michael, who hits the road beginning July 12th in Reno, Nevada, has already sold out several shows including two each in NY, Chicago and LA. Additional shows in those markets are expected to be announced shortly according to the tour's US promoter Don Fox at Beaver Productions.

Michael Buble sold fewer copies of his new album Call Me Irresponsible this week than last week. But he still wound up vaulting to number one on the prestigious Billboard Top 200 album chart in the United States, up from number two the previous week.
What happened?
Mother's Day.
"He was an ideal purchase for Mother's Day," says Keith Caulfield of Billboard magazine.
"A lot of acts on the charts this past week either moved up or had a significant increase in sales because of Mother's Day gift purchases, everyone from Daughtry to Barbra [Streisand] to Buble."
Conversely, the number one act last week - R&B singer Ne-Yo - wasn't an ideal purchase for Mother's Day. Ne-Yo's sales dipped 65 percent this week, and he slipped to number four. Buble's sales went down 32 percent, but he still sold the most CDs in the U.S., so he went up in the chart.
Nielson Soundscan tracks CD and digital album sales in the U.S. and Canada. Call Me Irresponsible sold 212,000 copies in the States the first week, and 145,000 copies this week. In Canada, it sold 42,000 copies the first week, 40,000 this week.
Nielson Soundscan even tracks sales in local markets. In Vancouver, Buble sold 4,000 copies his first week, and 3,000 this week. His British Columbia-wide total was 6,000 this first week, 5,000 this week
Buble was in Chicago today to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show. His manager Bruce Allen was also in Chicago, but Allen's public relations assistant Marlene Palmer says the new album has sold 1.3 million copies worldwide in its first two weeks of release. His record company Warner Brothers says this makes the Burnaby crooner the top selling musical act in the world this week.
Buble's new album has been number one in Canada, the United States, Germany, Holland, Italy, Australia, South Africa and Singapore. He also has the top selling album in Europe in general.
Buble had sold 13 million albums worldwide before Call Me Irresponsible, but this is his first number one record in the States. His previous best was It's Time in 2005, which went to number seven.
It's unusual for a Sinatra-style singer like Buble to top the charts these days, and it's also unusual in the way he did it.
"The normal way of getting number one these days is that you debut at number one, you usually don't rise to number one," says Billboard's Caulfield.
"So Michael Buble actually climbs to number one, which is kind of unusual and pretty cool. It's his first number one, so it's even cooler for him."
Buble has been home in Vancouver recently, often with his girlfriend, actress Emily Blunt. But he will soon be setting out on a world tour that begins July 12 in Reno. There are 55 shows listed for the U.S., Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, England, Scotland, and Wales, but so far there are no dates for Canada.
The closest shows to Vancouver are August 28 and 29 in Seattle, where he will play Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. It's initials spell MOM, which is appropriate, because it was rebuilt by contributions by Seattle billionaires John, Craig and Keith McCaw in honour of their mother.
The most recent B.C. acts to be number one on the Billboard Top 200 are Nelly Furtado and Nickelback. Bryan Adams and Bachman-Turner Overdrive have also had number one albums in the U.S.
Canadians are doing quite well in the States at present; Avril Lavigne also had a recent number one. Lavigne is currently number five, Robin Thicke is at #16, Nickelback is #17, Rush is #20, Furtado is #29, Feist is #35 and the Arcade Fire is #95.

Not long ago, Michael Buble was an unknown local lounge singer crooning at downtown Vancouver nightclubs.

Today, Buble is king of the world, mainstream music-wise.

His new album, Call Me Irresponsible, this week became the No. 1- selling album in the world at the top of the Billboard 200.

The record, which was released on May 1, has topped the charts in Canada for two consecutive weeks and has reached No. 1 in seven markets around the world, including the United States, Australia, South Africa, Europe, Singapore, Holland and Germany.

Buble and his band have toured around the world over the past two months and today he appears on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

The album's momentum has largely come from the huge radio airplay given its first single, Everything. The single was released on March 19 and a week later was No. 1 in Canada and remains at the top of the chart.

Buble launched his career as a teenage winner of the PNE youth talent show. He crooned his way through clubs, cruise ships and weddings before landing a major-label record deal with the help of fellow Canadians David Foster and Paul Anka, who went on to produce his self-titled album.

The album full of American pop standards and covers sold three million records. Suddenly, he became a fixture on middle-brow TV, a guest on Larry King Live and Live With Regis & Kelly.

Canadian crooner Michael Buble performed songs from his new album in front of a crowd of lucky Breakfast Television viewers at the CHUMCity building Monday. Buble performed a handful of songs from Call Me Irresponsible, which is a collection of original material and classic jazz standards.

Buble was animated during the concert despite the early start, and joked around with BT hosts Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese at points. In a recent interview the 31-year-old admitted this album was a tough one to make. "I was nervous about this record. We sold six million at the last one and I'll be devastated if this one doesn't do seven," he said.

The first single, Everything, is one of two original tracks on the disc and it recently debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S.

Buble said his girlfriend, British actress Emily Blunt, inspired the track. His other original composition, Lost, was co-written with Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. Other tracks include classics The Best is Yet to Come, I've Got the World on String, and the title track.
