Jay was upset and depressed. In her opinion, bad luck stuck to her after she had fallen for Destine. Being smart and good-looking didn't give her any chance with him, she was only able to fascinate Page, but he had left her because of me.
The sun was drowning in the waves of Pacific Ocean. That was the first time for me to be on the east coast. Or west? Oh yeah, the west coast of the continent and the east coast of the ocean. In Australia, I could only see Pacific Ocean dawn. I like sunset more. The show was unusual for me and consequently charming.
Although, it was regular for Jay. She left me admiring the sunset and chased Destine. After a while, she came back.
"Is he gone?" I asked.
Jay fell on the ground. "I don't know who he is supposed to be now."
"Calm down, pal, he's not the only one."
"Ya mean?" Jay shouted. "He is! And you know it!"
"Gee... You're weird. Canya tell me what had happened between you?"

She told me what had happened after Destine shared his powers to me. Sums similar took place before the accident, and they ended up arguing. A couple of minutes ago when he brought us to the shore and left, she chased him to apologize and make ev'rything clear. I didn't know what the hell took place then because she stopped her story to cry.
"That's the drop, isn't it?" I asked.
"Got that right! The drop which overfilled my patience. I'm going down!"
"Maybe you shouldn't."
"Gee, Jumper, I don't wanna live anymore!"
"You’ll forget him, I know..."
"Never mind! He broke my heart and it won't be forgotten!"
"Cut it out, Jay. If you had some steady feelings, he would know that. He's a telepath, you know. And now he realizes that your broken heart will get fixed in no time."
"You're a moron, Warakurna!"
"Jay..."
"A total Australian moron! And you think I am! You've got a crush on him and you're tryin' to steal him from me! I wish you went down!"
"She got crush on WHOM?"
We jumped up surprised. Who was that?

It was a helluva long way back to California. I tried to move at the speed of sound, but I was too exhausted for it. Moreover, I had to go invisible several times, and it took plenty of energy, although it was getting easier time after time. In two days, I finally reached Rocky Mountains. It was no so far from Los Angeles, and I had a little rest. I really shouldn't have done that. When I got to our place which was between LA and LB, I noticed something weird. All the inhabitants were running scared, and the black smoke was filling all around.
I heard my name and saw Jay. "You should have been here half an hour before!" she yelled. "We're short of flying people!"
I tried to pull her out, but she was too heavy.
"Run!" I screamed.
I got down and ran next to her. I don't know how I did that, but the bright light coming from my eyes made visibility better. When we finally got out of smoke, she explained what had happened.
There was an accident on the factory, on the highest floor. They tried to prevent the explosion, but they were out of staff. Helicopters were sent to bring people high, and Destine was there too, but they were still short of one person. After they tried to work it out as they were, this thing blew up.
"He should have given those powers to ME!" she kept repeating.
"I'm really sorry", I said.
"I'll never forgive you!"
"That's not my fault."
Destine appeared.
"I should have shared telepathic abilities with you, Jumper", he said, "but I didn't know how. And Jay, I have known you for many years and I understand that you would probably be afraid, so I didn't share. Don't argue with me, I see you inside out. And don't you gals argue with each other, you have no fault."
Destine had another unique ability. He was calming.
Jay shut up.
"I'll get you to Long Beach", said Destine picking Jay up, "while they are trying to work this accident out. Willya come with us, Jumper?"
"Sure", I said taking off.
We left together.
I let Destine and Jay to go forward. I didn't want Jay to see me, and I wanted to look at my powerful phantom friend. "Maybe it's going to be a love triangle", I thought.

Danneh listened attentively.
"I made friends with Jay. She's not much older than me, so we came close. She was interested in astronomy and light glam music. Then I realized she had a crush on Destine, but not for knowing he's a ghost. Then she asked him for helping her get the same powers but he refused. She wanted to fly in the skies."
Danneh's green eyes were full of interest.
"I got close to Page. That's his last name, similar to Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, but his first name was different. He also was known as Romantico, according to his crush on glamour and girls. Once he liked Jay, I was the next one. But he was quite annoying."
"So you quit?"
"Yeah. He truly wanted to give me the time, but he wasn't enough attractive to me. There were just crazy things and no love between us. Then, I knew all about that stupid 'times'. First comes heavy breathing, staring at the ceiling, what will happen next I don't wanna know."
"That's New Found Glory!" Danneh said excitingly.
"Yap, it's one of my favourite bands."
"So, what happened next?"
"I asked Destine..."
"Don't finish that sentence. You asked the same thing as Jay, and he agreed, didn't he?"
"He did. He made me fly and gave me a shot with his ghost stinger. He shocked me lightly several times before. But I still don't have any control of that."
"Take this", said Danneh giving me the branch. I took it and it burnt in my hand.
"Concentrate", advised Dan. "Let your energy nowhere but out."
I took another branch...

"Fine", said Phantom. "Now you have control of that power. What else you can do?"
"Fly. Just fly."
"You were right, you're not a ghost. Just a flying electric blast."
"Once Destine made me invisible. Maybe I got that too?"
"I can't know it. Try."
I concentrated, but nothing happened. "Could you share your energy?" I asked.
"How? By touch?" Dan wasn't excited about this idea.
"I can control it now", I said. "If you're afraid of shortening, don't touch my hands."
He pressed my shoulders and went invisible.
"Now try it yourself."

"Gee, it worked!" I screamed after a while. "Thank you, Dan!"
"No, thank YOU", he replied.
"You're always welcome, but what for?"
"For helping me discover new ghost ability. I didn't know I can share my energy."
"Well, thank you for thanking me", I laughed. "And thank you for sharing."
"Not at all", said Danneh. "What are you doing now?"
"Getting back to California. They have probably lost me, and I have some deal with Jay. Moreover, I wasn't nearly fast enough to thank Destine who disappeared at the speed of mind."
"Well, that's a deal. Good luck, Jumper."
"Wait. What state is that?"
"Louisiana. Go west."
"Thanks again. Bye!"
Danneh held out his hand without any fear. I pressed it without any blast. We smiled to each other. I took off, then turned round and waved. Danneh waved back and flied east. I knew we'll never meet again, but I didn't really care. I thought about Destine who started slowly filling my mind.

"Destine? I heard about him, but we never had a contact. So he gave you this ghost stinger?"
"Yap."
"I'll try to contact him while my next being to California."
We lied beneath the tree, where we stopped to have a dinner and a rest. Danneh kept asking me about Destine.
"You wanna this power?"
"Pass. I wanna make friends with him. I decided to fight ghosts when I was younger, but now it looks ridiculous. Don't wanna get back to the time when I was too young to drive."
"You're right, Dan. Making enemies is not what adults do. And I think you awreddy have some, aren't you?"
"Yap. I'm tired and trying to avoid them now."
We paused our talk to eat, and then I told him that Destine knew Dan not only with TV help.
"Maybe he saw me last time when I visited Long Beach?"
"You're too famous to hide, you know."
"Right."
After a minute, Danneh asked me how it was.

I recalled that I met Destine online. Few days later, he called me on the phone. He asked me if I had been to USA, and I said no. I also told that California has been my golden dream for ages, and he invited me to his place. Then I started speaking about Australia and figured out that he had never left the United States and doesn't want to.
"You Americans are always stuck in your goddam land", I said.
"We Americans are morons, and you're not the first who..."
"Gee, I didn't say the word 'moron'!"
"Awreddy said."
"Stop catching my words, you moron!"
"See?"
After apologizing to each other, he told me about his being to Mexico and Caribbean Islands, and added that his next point is Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. I remarked that it isn't far away from Capricornia.
"Da ya live in there?" he asked.
"Nope, I live in Warakurna Range, in the desert. Wanna get there?"
"Desert? No thanks."
So we both got to Capricornia. After admiring those perfect views, I tried to know what his real name was. But he gave me no information. "Call me Destine, as it is online", he said. "So," I said, "I have a nickname 'Phantom Orion' on my online blog, call me so." When the stars filled the sky, I asked him: "See Orion?" "No." "Strange. You can see him in California. The Great Hunter and his famous The Great Orion Nebula." "I'll figure this out when I'm back home..."

I came to California later. I saw Orion the Great Hunter from the northern hemisphere. We admired him together with Destine, Jay and Page. When Jay and Page got cold and left me alone with Destine, he told me he was a ghost.
"How it's possible?" I asked.
"Da ya know Danneh Phantom?" he asked back.
"Sure."
"I got the ghost powers the similar way, by getting the electric shock. It was my dream come true, but don't please say that we Americans are all mad about ghosts."
"I won't, I'm mad about them too."
"Really?"
"Thanks to Danneh."
Then Destine said that he saw Danneh not so long ago. "He's now Dan the Traveler, and he had been to California several times," he explained. "I went invisible and gave him a little eye."
"You're cool", I said.
"T - thanks."
"Can you show me your powers?"
"With pleasure."

I woke up in Destine's arms. He was carrying me down to the ground. I was cold, but my friend's body warmed me.
"What happened to me?" asked I.
"Nopes. You just got some powers. Ghost powers", replied Destine.
"Ha? Was I sleeping on the clouds?"
"Sure. I got you down 'cause you're going to freeze."
He brought me on the solid ground. The heaven was over.
"Go on, Jumper!" ghost said. "But don't jump too high!" He disappeared so fast that I couldn't see where he supposed to go, and I felt frequent shiver. To escape freezing, I started to run. It helped. Then I came near the fence and tried to jump. Mommy dear, I jumped at about 10 meter height! "Oh right, I can fly now!" I remembered. Wind was blowing into my face, my hair was loosing, and I felt so light and happy that it made me laugh.
Suddenly I noticed another flying object going to meet me. I recognized Danneh, the world's most famous ghost. "Is somebody of us flying at the speed of sound?" wondered I. "Or he was near?"
"Hi Danneh", shouted I.
He waved his hand to me.
"Are we far away from California?" was my question.
Danneh laughed. "You're in Illinois, gal. Where are you from?"
"Australia", I said. "I've been to California visiting my friend Destine, and he gave me ability to fly. The bad thing is I didn't look at the time when I was leaving."
"Gee", Danneh smiled, "you're going to opposite side from Australia. You should have gone west."
"I don't wanna come back to Australia. I just wanted to try my new powers here."
"So you came here right from California?"
"Actually, from Sierra Nevada."
"And since when you haven't looked at the time?"
"Since yesterday. Or... what day is it today?"
Danneh answered and asked me back:
"And what was yesterday?"
I named the day.
"Gee... You lost your time. Hey, da ya wanna come to my place?"
"Sure!" It was my dream come true. I've been Danneh's fan for some years.
"Wait. Da ya know any of..." then Danneh called some names.
"I'm not a ghost, you know", said I. "And I only heard about them."
"Well, so let's go to my state!"
I followed the young ghost.
"So, I don't know you and you barely know me", said he holding out his hand. "Dan Phantom, the traveler."
"Nice to meet you, Dan", my words were. "I'm Warakurna. Or Jumper. What's better for you. My American friends usually call me Jumper."
I touched his hand and he came off me for several meters.
"Don't you please shorten my powers!" he yelled.
"Sorry", I said. "I almost forgot that Destine's given me electric powers."

Destine lowered his hands. They were still hot. "I shouldn't have done this", he thought. His powers were making him unique, and he didn't like to share them. Although, he gave me two of them: ability to fly and electric shot. The last one would make me dangerous and other people jealous.
Sure, some of them became jealous right that moment. Suddenly Destine heard wicked voice:
"And whuddya think ya doing?"
"Relax, Jay", Destine replied. "I've been sincere with you for all the time you know me, you don't need to blame me for hiding anything from you."
"You gave her the powers?" asked Jay violently.
"Yap", Destine was reserved and calm.
"But why? And why you refused to me??? Tell me this, young man!"
"Don't please call me so, babe. I am young, but much older than you are. That's the first thing."
"But she is..."
"Much younger than we both are. She is helluva young but awreddy sure about her future. The third thing I want you to know is that you aren't sure and you mean this, so I'm not too. What the hellja tell me that time?"
"Dude, that's weird. I just wanted you to feel what I was feeling and..." Jay was shaking with her emotions.
"You're right, it's helluva strange. But the stranger thing is that I felt it. I was worried about you."
Jay smiled. "You really like me", she said.
Destine's eyes glittered.
"You're so careful about my life", added Jay, putting her hands around phantom's neck.
"Gee..."
"Please, please, don't fear, send me to the skies..."

"I don't fear", Destine's reply was, "but you probably will. It's freezing cold up there. She's unconscious now", he pointed to me, "but after waking up she'll feel it. Looks like she's awreddy shivering."
"I know", Jay whispered. "But Warakurna is my friend and I want to share everything with her as I did before."
"You girls both would fall", continued phantom.
"We would fly, Rob", she still didn't want to surrender.
Destine smiled ironically.
"Or, if you don't want to share your powers, carry me! I won't freeze, I know..."
"So you want it? I didn't finish yet..."
"There's no need", girl's whisper sounded again. "We don't need to go up there, if we both are down here."
Destine was stunned. He didn't expect that and became completely knocked out. They were close to necking. Destine eventually got his lips close to Jay's, but suddenly went intangible and slipped away.
"Hell!" Jay screamed. "Why did he vanish?"
After a few minutes of calling and waiting, Jay left. Ghost waited until she disappeared far away from him and moved back to the place he was standing before.
"I could have given her a shock, but it would be too violent", he thought. "Love can get out of control, and she isn't going to be blamed for that."
Then, looking at me, he told himself:
"Weird Warakurna... I wonder what her real name is."

"So", Destine winked, "you kid wanna get it?"
"Sure."
"Whatever you want", big flashing smile appeared on the phantom face.
That killed me. Terrific Destine's smile shone right in front of me, and I couldn't help smiling back. I was completely risen up.
"But..."
"Ha?"
"Maybe you shall want to get rid of that, ha Orion?"
"My name is Warakurna!" it was my little resist from Destine's power.
"Last time you introduced yourself as Phantom Orion, dude. Or maybe Orion Phantom, weren't you?"
Gee. The only thing I could do without abusing powerful ghost was replying:
"Scuse me, I'm not a phantom".
"Gee! I know, you're a god. Or, for real, a goddess. You're a girl, am I right?" seeing my confusion, my companion added: "So willya change your mind?"
"How can you ask that, dude!" I said. "What the hellaya asking about?"
"So, your last word?"
"Yes".
"Okay, I guess you won't blame me".
Goddam Destine was so calm that I cut out all my fears and stepped near the edge.
"So what the hellya waiting for?"
I turned round for the very last time.
"You may call me Orion", I said.
"Get set!"
"Or... Jumper", my last word was.
"Jumper Phantom... Marvelous. So... Ready? JUMP!"
I closed my eyes, took the position and left the edge. Man, I felt like flying! I felt like rising up, right to an outer space, with nothing to stop me, and my eyes were still closed so I wasn't able to see anything. The last thing I remember was some kind of electricity shock and losing my senses. I hung in the air totally unconscious.
