Foo Fighters осуществили свою мечту и сыграли концерт на местности, где, по легенде, разбился неопознанный летающий объект инопланетного происхождения. Концерт состоялся в городке Розуэлл, штат Нью-Мексико, неподалеку от знаменитого «Ангара 18», в котором якобы хранятся обломки корабля и останки его пассажиров. Загадочные события 1947-го года легли в основу нескольких художественных и документальных фильмов, наиболее известный из которых - «Ангар 18».

Выступление Foo Fighters, приверженцев существования «инопланетного следа» на Земле, состоялось в Розуэлле 11 июня, в день выхода их нового двойного альбома «In Your Honor». Зрителями шоу стали поклонники коллектива, выигравшие право слетать с Foo Fighters в Нью-Мексико.

Открытие этого года, американский квартет The Killers назван "Лучшей новой группой года" по версии mtvU Woodie Awards. Главные награды - "Артист года" и "Альбом года" достались любимцам американских студентов Modest Mouse и Coheed & Cambria соответственно.

Напомним, что mtvU - это проект телекомпании MTV, канал, вещающий в студенческих городках Америки и транслирующий клипы и выступления малоизвестных университетских групп. У премии mtvU Woodie Awards нет церемонии награждения, а имена лидеров публикуются в интернете.

Победители определяются путем голосования студентов, которые высказывали свое мнение по телефону и через интернет.

Другими лауреатами премии стали Sum 41, N*E*R*D и Incubus

Повреждение руки Баркер обнаружил не сразу, а лишь после съемок видео своей новой группы, с которой он планировал отправиться на гастроли уже в предстоящую субботу. Что позволяет говорить о том, что травма не слишком серьезна. Но врачи приписали музыканту освободить руку от нагрузок на восемь недель. К тому же выяснилось, что Тревис играл с поломанной рукой несколько недель, прежде чем ему наложили гипс.
