В Копенгагене накануне прошло вручение премий MTV Europe Music Awards.

Американский певец Джастин Тимберлейк стал победителем в номинациях «лучший исполнитель» и «лучший поп-проект».

Группой года стали ветераны сцены «Депеш Мод», лучшей певицей – Кристина Агилера, а наиболее успешный альбом, по мнению аудитории телеканала MTV, получился у «Рэд Хот Чили Пеперз».

Мадонна и Шакира, номинировавшиеся в трех категориях, остались в Копенгагене без наград.
