Before I'm start to adjust my third medium format Kiev camera I make a decision to make a how-to for future. As I know this cam's are also popular a bit in other countries, even a Kievaholih club is exists. That's why I make a translation for this how-to.

Warning! All following steps you are doing at your own risk. Read the manual before doing first step.

Well. You wil need following tools:
0) Photo camera Kiev-60
1) Non shacky hands. 2 psc.
2) Absolute self-confidence
3) Pliers
4) Electrical tape ore any other rubber glue-tape
5) Blade screwdriver with very-very-very thin nose. All screws are made of copper and very soft. Be sure before start that you will not destroy hatch.
6) Film roll with leader. In case if you have bad or light-struck film, as I have, would be perfect.
7) Marker


Step-by-step process
1) Remove prism/waist-level viewfinder. De-touch optics.
2) Exposure time selector to position "B"
3) Use 2-3 loops of electrical tape on side of film iso reminder
4) Use plies to unscrew reminder. In process hold shutter windup arm.
5) Uncrew 3 screws
6) Use plies to unscrew screw 6. Take off shutter windup arm. Take off from guides mounting of shutter arm. Take easy with lock hollow disk, which fix the arm mounting on the guides.
7) Unscrew 4 screws from the sides (2 screws on each) and 2 from back. Total 6. Gently remove aluminium cap. We are inside.
8) Take away marked on photo detail, it's not fixed. Otherwise we cal lose very important part of the camera.
9) Fix back shutter arm
10) Load camera with the film. Wind up film ladder on target spool till the mark on film ladder (usually arrow) will be in line with red mark on camera body.
11) Advace film. Make mark on film ladder. Release shutter. Redo 2-3 times.

Now we have a film ladder with couple of marks with our present frame spacing. You should understand: more film on target spool - more spce between frames. That's why all of adjustment we do in approximately dimensions. In case if fist and second frame are overlap on 4 millimeters, distance between third marks before and after adjustment should be at least 4mm.

12) Find the adjustments screws. They are on the left of frame counter. Release blue screw on 3-4 loops. Do not unscrew it compleatly. Twist red one clockwise. For first step quarter of a turn. Tighten blue screw.

13) Repeat step 10-11. If necessarily repeat adjustment.
14) Assemble camera steps 9 to 1.

Kiev 6c:
Adjusting frame interval in Kiev-6c is very same operation. But before step 3 you must do two things. First remove decorative cover of film type selector. Unscrew bolt. Remove selector. Second - remove decorative cover of shutter speed selector. Unscrew three bolts. Remove selector.
