Давно хотела найти несколько этих забавных стишков))) может, кому-нибудь еще они нравятся)
There once was a student named Bessor
Whose knowledge grew lesser and lesser
It at last grew so small
He knew nothing at all
And now he's a college professor
There once was a man from Blackheath]
Who sat on his pair of false teeth
He said with a start
'O dear! Bless my heart!
I've bitten myself underneath'
There was a young girl from Berlin
Who was so uncommonly thin
That when she essayed
To drink lemonade
She slipped through the straw and fell in
There was a young lady named Bright
Whose speed was far faster than light
She set off one day
In a relative way
And came back the previous night
There was a young man from Japan
Whose limericks would never quite scan
Asked why this was so
He said 'I don't know,
I think it's because I have a tendency to try to put as
many words into the last line as I possibly can'
a start - a sudden movement of fear and surprise
to essay - a formal word meaning to try
to scan - to have a regular rhythm
вверх^
