Is it true, that taking photos of the tower at night for any commercial use is prohibited ?
(Supposedly due to the reason that tower's lighting is copyrighted)

Jam_One, I think so yes...for example, if you want to take a pic of somebody in the gardens of Paris, you have to ask authorization to the town...
So I suppose that there is authorization (and money to pay) to get to be able to publish and commercialise pics of our Old Lady...
But I suppose it's the same in Russia with the Red Square.

nathsolnyshko, Unfortunately, I did not have time to visit the parkas of Paris.
But hope that some time will arrive yet.

Frau_Belka, it's because it's the way that sometimes we call "her"/"it" here: La vieille dame...juste because "she"/"it" is here for so long time...it's a kind of affectuous name :)
*by the way, we don't use "neutral" in French as it exits in Russian or English...so the Eiffel Tower is a "she"...she is feminine/female...*

We use "she" and "hi" for inanimate things too in Russian (like in French).
So: tower is "she", house is "hi" and so on :)
