Somebody asked me: "Why didn't you put her in colours?"....
When I was at the University, I've made a these which had for subject:"Paris seen by the American writers between the two World Wars".
In working on it, I've made a lot of researches about the Russians who were leaving in Paris in the 20's...and especially about Diaghilev and his "Ballets Russes"...
So when I saw this pic, I've immediately thought about "Le train bleu" because of the association with the tennis player, originaly played by Bronislava Nijinska... http://www.vam.ac.uk/images/image/53610-large.jpg http://www.danser-en-france.com/repertoire/balletsrusses/nijinska.html
Of course, Jankovic's dress doesn't have the charm of the Coco Chanel's clothes but her attitude made me think imediately about a dancer one....
