Saetia was a band from New York City that formed in early 1997 and is often considered one of the definitive groups of the often mis-interpreted genre "screamo." Saetia's first show was at ABC No Rio to about 30 people. 2.5 years, 17 songs, numerous tours and 4 bassplayers later, Saetia played their final show at ABC No Rio to 40 people.

Former members went on to play in Off Minor, Interpol, Hot Cross, Instruction, The Fiction and Yo Man, Go!.

The drummer of Saetia, Greg Drudy, runs the record label Level Plane.

Saetia had various members during different incarnations. Alex Madara, the first bass player for Saetia, died of a severe allergic reaction which put him into a coma for eight days before he passed away on December 14, 1998.
