I always wonder when do you (in US) hand the presents over to children? In the evening or in the morning? What`s the tradition?
Christmas tree is very beautiful!!!
When I was just a child my parents made me wait until Christmas morning! As we grew older we started to open them on Christmas Eve. Now we will probably go to my son's house on Christmas Day to exchange gifts and have Christmas dinner. Thank you! My son still gets a real tree!! Ours is artificial!! :))) Happy Holidays!!
Isida, can I ask what`s the difference between "gift" and "present"? What word do you use for Christmas or for Birthday for example?
We use an artificial tree too but the real one creates a special atmosphere at home :)))
There is no difference. I think you can use gift and present interchangably. But you are right, it is common to hear people say Christmas gift and birthday present.
I agree, the scent of a real pine tree is nice in the house, but we can buy pine scented candles to try to produce the feeling!! :)))
Thank you for clarification! Always interesting to know some specific details about using english words ;)
And a very good idea about pine scented candles! I wonder if we have that sort of candles here.... I`m gonna look for them :)
