But it was close, Norway controlled much of the game up until the ninth end where Russia scored a triple to even the game coming home and needed a steal.
Ludmila Privivkova rarely miss the button when she needs to draw to it and there was no exception this time. She came around a centre guard with her last shot and buried on top of the tee. Kristin Skaslien tried to follow in order to tap the Russian shot, she hit the Russian stone but not with enough power to become shot. Russia are now two games clear of the field with this 8-7 win over Norway.
Sweden once again was forced to play an extra end after being unable to kill the game in time. In the ninth Sweden with a 7-6 lead had a draw for a deuce but didn't make it and in the tenth Swedish skip Stina Viktorsson had to make a tough angled double to save Sweden. Scotland came close to scoring a triple but had to settle for the double and the game went into an extra end where the Swedes suddenly played percfectly. Sweden scored two to win 10-8.
Switzerland beat Korea 9-4, Canada beat USA 7-3 and Denmark beat China 5-4 in the other games of the draw.
Russia is qualified for the semifinals. Canada is in a good situation being 5 and 2 and having both the Asian teams left to play. Scotland is facing relegation after the loss to Sweden and with Russia and USA left it looks tough for the Scottish girls. Regarding the last two play-off spots it's a tough race with five teams involved. Korea, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland all have four wins and Denmark has 3, but Denmark is guaranteed a tie-break if they win both their remaining games so still anything can happen. In theory only China and USA has been eliminated from the semifinals with only two draws left.
