Ok, I just tried to add comment to Helen' page but I guess she closed access to it or smth, so my all typing went bye bye- just wasted like 10 minutes of my life typing response to smth that is NOT going to change Anything,
Anyway thought I'd post it here so ppl will know what I think about parents leaving their children to die in their cars and not going to jail for it.
Last two summers we had this happen in our town!!! I still remember turning off every radio station on my way to work raving about mom leaving her daughter in a car ( and should I add her birth daughter not adopted) and not going to jail for it- just got tired of listening to same story over and over again. Yes that mom too did not end up in jail but eventually in a mental institution. She had and older kid and a husband who forever turned his back on her and she could not cope by herself, got locked up forever haunted by the memory of what she had done. I don't even want to go into details of how I would feel in her shoes, I think she has been interviewed by Oprah and even looked recovering for a little bit but no- I do not believe she will ever recover. Moving on to another couple - mom went out of her routine stopped for coffee and forgot her 18 month old who died of overheating *again* when people are still talking about the first one, still grieving about their loss. She did not go to jail either, but had to move to a diff city and state- her family did offer support but others did not. Or how about this foster family- they went on TV asking for any help - allegedly their son was kidnapped. I still remember that mom screaming- just give me my boy back... Or wait- that was Angie in her new movie lot... Anyway, investigators found out later that foster parents killed their son at home and burned his remains- both are now in jail for a lifetime. Oh wait there is that crazy woman too- her husband asked for divorced she could not take it anymore, strapped her kids in a car and drove into lake- she survived, but all three kids died. She is in jail too, but will it explain to others WHAT the hell was wrong with her??? What was she thinking??? Ok and then there is that crazy angry daddy who killed his wife and set the house on fire while his three sleeping kids were still inside- his excuse: he was sure they are at grandparents that night- yeah - lifetime for him as well. But my point is- if we zoom in on ANY town, ANY country, any generation, we will find that cruel, horrible, unexplained things happen every day to all kinds of people and ordinary person becomes crazy in a matter of one little second!!! The normal human response is to judge, blame, hate and so on, it is so much easier and so much more NORMAL!!! I especially like when ppl act like they know exactly what happened and why and what should be done to make things right. Do you think sending that dad to jail will fix anything? Will send message to others- jails obviously don't work- we would not have crime for centuries if they would. Leaving him on a loose? Others will use his example to get away with killing children??? You obviously not a parent or you should know what joy it is to be a parent even in the most difficult times and how hard it is to adopt from another country!!!!! Don't judge but find compassion and understanding for others. Remember Bible? Ne sudi I ne sudim budesh. Every culture has a flaw, every country has few too many, it is so much easier to be hater then to be open minded and give love to others. I know it sounds corny but it is true. There is no right or wrong - a family lost a little boy. It is tragedy. Nothing to do with him being from Russia- it is sad when ppl use somebody tragedy to prove something- see, Americans are such ass holes, etc. - what about russians coming to usa and abusing system to get benefits, mexicans working illegally, husbands cheating on their wives, fathers sexually abusing their children, homeless cats and dogs, corrupted cops and politics, low incomes and high prices, stupid ppl and dirty bathrooms- I mean really I can go on and on!!!! Life sucks but it is how you look at things and how you react. Do not exclude, be inclusive and pray and hope nothing like that ever happens to someone you know or love!!!!!
