Today is a HUGE holiday in Russia- The Day of Victory, and although I AM greatfull to our veterans for giving us hope for better future, I hate this holiday. Just thinking about how many innocent lives war took away, how many children and women died cause some crazy pranks thought it has a bigger meaning or will bring them more power to rule this world- makes me sick to my stomach. I can not celebrate TODAY, I can only hope nothing like that war will happen in my daughter's life!
I guess motherhood changed my state of mind.
I remember celebrating this day before back in Russia with Victory songs and recognitions of veterans with flowers: I thought of it different then I guess. I hate war. I hate power politic games... and THAT IS exactly why my daughter will have dual citizenship: American AND Russian...just in case... you know...
