I'm not sure if its impressive or worrying, but I somehow just managed to register on a site where I can't speak a word of the language, and set up some sort of colour scheme for my shiny new journal (with animated smileys). Probably just means that I spend far too much time on the internet, and know vBulletin far too well.

Ah well.

Anyway, currently at work. This being the sitting at home on the settee with a laptop and loud music style of work, rather than the one which most of you poor people have which involves something other than just getting out of bed in the morning and crawling to the next room. Yes, I do believe that I am permitted to gloat about this. If anyone objects, I'll need an objection form filled out in triplicate.

Or a swift kick in the groin and a vicious glare, whichever is easiest.

Good fun trying to find cub scouts yesterday, since I was asked to give them a little chat on self-defense as a favour. Unfortunately we slightly misplaced the destination, which sent us zipping up to London instead of simply going twenty minutes up to Surbiton. Fun was had all round. Annie fell asleep in the back of the car, or rather failed to fall asleep. Dori failed to do the same in the passenger seat. I performed my usual trick of just driving until I found Woking again.

Bad news though, the insurers won't insure Dori on my car until she has a full British license, meaning that not only can she not get any practice, but that until she does get her full license I'm doing all of the driving.

With several Lorien Trust events coming up this is not a good thing, even if it does mean that the passengers pay for my KFC on the way up. Still, I'm hardly going to refuse to drive people anywhere. I like helping people, even if sometimes they can't seem to work out that I always know best. :D

Anyway, I have actually got stuff to do today, including a meeting in about twenty minutes, so just a couple more updates. I'm actually getting help dying my hair for once, which is definitely a good thing, since I have absolutely no idea how to do it on my own without one of those mousse kits. Plus it means that I don't need to wear those evil glove things. Also going up to Ikea, which is good as I could do with getting a desk. Working on the sofa is all well and good, but I usually end up shifting position several times a day to get comfortable, and that's too much like effort for my liking.

Morning coffee is good, although I'm not sure that its safe to drink if it actually oozes from the coffee pot. I'm not talking about just pouring slowly here, I'm talking about sticks to the spoon sort of consistency. This is probably not a good thing, and I nearly choked on it, but hey, its coffee.

Anyway, must stop writing journal and actually do something useful. Must admit though, I feel like I've done enough work for the day already, what with the stuff I just went through this morning. My head hurts from trying to learn C, as well as trying to understand what a Universal Register Debugger is, and how our lovely new contacts system actually works.

The Xbox is starting to look reeeeeal tempting...

Could do with some company, but everyone I know is at work. Mike's gonna be busy tonight, so he's ruled out. I just want people around right now. Feeling drained, not down, just wanting people. Discovered the real big drawback of working from home. No workmates.

I dunno, I'm just in an odd mood. Strangely calm, wanting people around, but feeling like I could explode at any moment. Last time I was like this was during my GCSEs. Not happy about feeling this way again.
