"The phrase ursäkta mig/excuse me is not so widely used in Sweden. It is not that we are extremely rude people; it is just not used commonly. If someone bumps into you, it is more likely that you’ll hear oj/oops than ursäkta mig. Most often though you might not even hear that. If you find that people push you or force you to move in a rather unfriendly way don’t be offended or angry since that is not the intention."
