My kitty is sick. The same thing again, a recurring hole in his belly, previous surgical site. Have an appointmnet with the Vet Surgeon tomorrow morning. There has to be something that can help us! Otherwise I don't know...So heart breaking.

Best of luck to you and your cat tomorrow. I also hope there is a way to cure this. Wharever it is. I really do hope so! Please let me know what the vet says.

self-made, thank you so very much. He's had another surgery yesterday. When the Vet saw him first she showed me a little piece of dissolvable suture in his subcutaneous tissue. She placed it there during last surgery in November of 2008 and it normally takes about 6 mths to completeley dissolve. Regarding the opening in his skin was right above the remnants of the sutures she suggested he might be rejecting the suture material. It's like his immune system has gone wild and is rejecting anything foreign placed in his body. So she removed whatever was left of those sutures. While performing the surgery she realized that the tissue looked somewhat abnormal where the sutures were placed, so she sent out a biopsy to the lab. It could be something as benign as reactive tissue(which I definitely hope so) or recurrent malignant growth. He might be also having some antibiotic resistant bacteria...So we'll know the lab results in a week. For now he's home, and seems to be recovering well, taking pain medication and antibiotics. Oh, I really have to fight him to squirt those things into his mouth. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time we've resolved the issue.

Obviously you are dealing with an unusual case... Did she use different surgical threads this time? Poor cat and poor you. Definitely it is better if it's just an allergy. Is your cat old?

She didn't use anything internally this time, but used regular removable sutures to close up the skin(as they've always done); therefore I'm hoping that will be the ultimate fix. He's not that old, only 7, considering the life expectancy of indoor cats here being up to 16 years.

7 is not old at all. They say you have to multiply cat's age by 5 to find out the age human aquivalent, so she's only about 35 y.o. That is good, that means she should heal faster and has much more chances to get better.

self-made, I truly hope so. Thank you for your support and caring.
