Ah, Mother Russia. Well the trip to Russia started off really crappy for me... I think the abundance of Smirnoff Ice from yesterday got to my stomach.. Not from the alchohol content, but more from the sweetness of the drink. It didn't sit well in my stomach, and by the time the plane took off I was in the bathroom immediately getting sick. That sucked!!! So pretty much for the next 2 and a half hours I sat in my chair on the plane completely miserable feeling like I was going to get sick again at any minute. Oh well... We arrived in Russia and made it in without much stalling. We had a a brief problem at Declarations as they wanted to know why we were bringing so much equipment in with us, but our interpreter helped sort out the situation for us and we were on our way. Upon arrival to the hotel we were all pleasantly suprised to see how nice the hotel was as we all didn't know what to expect. It was a Radisson, and was actually a pretty high class place. We dropped of our bags and then we were off to have some lunch. Our guide took the band and myself to an outdoor sitdown restaraunt witha HUGE menu! Everything was in Russian so he had to help us sort through what everything was. The meal was pretty good, and there weren't really any suprises.. After that it was back to the hotel for a short nap, and then we all met back in the lobby for a small interview session the band had to be part of at a nearby club. We were expecting much more of a gathering, but all it ended up being was a short interview, and then we were on our way. We didn't have much else planned for the evening so we had our guide take us to the Red Square. It was very cool to see from outside, but unfortunately we were not allowed to venture inside as some event was going on. Some sort of re-enactment parade was going to be taking place the day for something, so they were not allowing anyone to come into the Red Square. I'm not quite sure what the event was, so we'll leave it at that. We went back to the hotel, and had the best meal of the entire tour! We ate at a sushi restaraunt in the hotel, and feasted like KINGS! Myself, Mike, David, and the bands manager ate sushi, grilled fish, steak, and assorted deserts and were oh so content! It was delicious!!! Sushi is my favorite food, and I haven't had it since we've been gone, so that made my day. After that we spent some time at the hotel club, and then off to bed as everyone wanted to get up at a decent hour. More tomorrow from Russia! - Rafa

Today was a VERY LONG day with really not too much going on. We went to the venue around 1pm and pretty much had nothing to do all day... It would have been nice if we could have come later and spent some more time venturing around Russia, but we needed to be there for David to do press and for sound check. The day was quiet, and I sat with the band in their dressing room for the majority of the time... Some of the crew guys joined us and we heard some of the stories of the events of last night... We'll just leave it at that.. As it got closer to showtime we all noticed the arrival of military carrying machine guns! It wasn't a total suprise as we thought something like this might happen, but it was still kind of werid seeing security for a rock show carrying around big guns! The venue was not nearly as packed as was promised to the band, but it still went over as a great show for those in attendance. It was interesting as Mike had to play on a random drum kit, and Dan / Fuzz both had to leave there wireless systems behind, so they were back on cords. The band all had a fun time with it though since it was just like the old days when they were playing rock shows in the small clubs. Even though the attendance was small the fans there were WAY into it! We heard they only get 3 shows of this genre a year, so its a pretty big deal when one comes through. Unfortunately this particular show wasn't promoted well enough. Aside from that tonight was on of the most laid back "fun" shows I've seen the band have in a while. Everyone was in good spirits and making the best of the experience despite what they were up against. After the show we all went back to the hotel and spent many hours in the hotel club drinking and having fun for our last few hours in Russia. All in all the last two days were two of the most enjoyable of the tour even though it wasn't the biggest show by any means... - Rafa

Обидно, конечно что организация концерта не особо обрадовала их (хотя и шокировала окончательно :) ), но всё же эт круто, что им у нас понравилось! ЖДём с нетерпением возвращения DISTURBED! :)
