MEDIUM 20” to fit approximately ages 2-4

Pattern is written for smaller size, with changes for larger sizes in ().

STITCH KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
sc (single crochet), hdc (half-double crochet), sl st (slip stitch), ch (chain)
working in a round
working to gauge
MATERIALS LIST:
2, 2.5 oz balls of your color of choice of cotton worsted weight yarn
Sugar ‘n Crème Yarn used for the sample.
Small amount of contrasting yarn for embroidery
U.S.-8, H, (5.0 mm) Crochet Hook, or hook needed for gauge
OTHER ITEMS NEEDED:
Scissors, for clipping yarn
Tapestry Needle to weave in ends
GAUGE:
With H hook: 1
check gauge! I tend to crochet a little loosely, for reference. You may need a
different size hook.
TIPS:
Do NOT join rounds unless expressly stated to do so.
Do not turn after rounds on the hat.

Starting out: With hook needed for gauge and yarn, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 8 hdc in 2nd ch from hook.
