If you notice the lack of people in Times Square, it was 7:00 am in the morning, so nothing is open yet.

[показать]

[показать]

If you notice above the Toshiba signs where it says "2009", this marks the first time the crystal ball that comes down on New Year's Eve/Day along with the year lights stayed up there permanently.

The Hotel I stayed at, the Roosevelt Hotel, built in 1924, closed in 1995 and reopened in 1997 after a $65 million renovation. This was the first hotel in America to have ground retail AND where Guy Lombardo recorded his famous "Auld Lang Syne" song for New Year's.

[показать]

Inside the Roosevelt Hotel, VERY NICE!

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Built in 1931, was the tallest building in the world until 1972. It is one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

[показать]

I like this Number Pattern work by Jasper Johns

[показать]

A Group Dance exhibit... called Huddle by Simone Forti

[показать]

That's what's called AIM (Art in Motion)

[показать]

[показать]

A skeletal chopper...

[показать]

Looking outside, great view...

[показать]

This, to me, really shows the diversity of New York City's architecture at street level...

[показать]

I found this picture rather amusing, yet disturbing at the same level, and the weirdest thing about this, was that it reminded me of that SNL skit "Cluckin' Chicken" from SNL, guess what, I actually saw it the night of on a "Best Of Commercials" show of SNL... how funny is that?

[показать]

This picture needs no description...

[показать]

To me, this looks like a drive-in A&W Restaurant...

[показать]

Who would want Lips for a chair?

[показать]

A "fictional" skyscraper in New York...

[показать]

Capsules, lit up

[показать]

A swiss-cheese style Empire State Building, take a close look...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Looking up at the MoMA offices...

[показать]

I think this is around the Avenue of the Americas...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Radio City Music Hall... notice all the cabs around here, I would say at least 1/2 of all vehicles I see in NYC are cabs.

[показать]

Applebee's... one of the few urban locations for an Applebee's you'll ever see...

[показать]

The famous Ed Sullivan Theater, home of the Late Show with David Letterman

[показать]

CBS Store...

[показать]

Broadway at night, what a sight... I would love to see a Broadway show sometime...

[показать]

Looking North on Broadway...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

The World's Largest T.G.I Friday's or at least rumoured to be... I ate supper here, I stuck to the chain restaurants for my meals...

[показать]

Times Square at night... quite the sight... It's a bigger, more urban version of Las Vegas...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

I ate in that Olive Garden for supper the night after, first time I ever had Olive Garden, boy it was good...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

NYC has many claims to fame, here's another one, the "Billboard Capital of the World"...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

I didn't have a tripod with me, but it was so bright, and the camera is pretty good for night shots, even without a tripod, these pictures turned out good...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Finally, out of Times Square

[показать]

[показать]

The Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal...

[показать]

My hotel again...

[показать]

GE Building and Rockefeller Center...

[показать]

[показать]

More skating at Rockefeller Center, always a sight.

[показать]

This and Central Park are two reasons why NYC may be considered a real family-friendly tourist draw...

[показать]

[показать]

Finally, one more time the view from my hotel room at night...

[показать]

After departing my hotel room and getting back to Fifth Avenue, this is yet another "diversity" shot of NYC's architecture...

[показать]

Rockefeller Center Ice Rink (AGAIN), I believe NBC did a special here before the game at MSG started...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Where "The Today Show" is broadcast...

[показать]

Looking WAY up at the GE Building, it has an observation deck, but I didn't get a chance to go up it.

[показать]

The classy famous entrance to NBC Studios, New York

[показать]

Inside the NBC store, this logo made out of M&Ms, I thought they were Skittles...

[показать]

[показать]

Outside the Studio Tour Entrance, I couldn't take pictures due to copyright issues...

[показать]

After the tour, went south on Fifth Avenue...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

MetLife Building and Chrysler Building

[показать]

Chrysler Building, completed in 1930 and was the tallest building in New York, before the Empire State Building in 1931.

[показать]

Grand Central Terminal, opened in 1871, is where all the Amtrak and Rail trains, including Subway terminate, and is one of the most prestigous rail stations in the world.

[показать]

Architecture and Eagles go hand in hand, much like football...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

One Penn Center...

[показать]

The World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, this arena opened in 1968, the second-oldest arena in the National Hockey League. This is also the third arena built with that name... the others I believe have closed or torn down.

[показать]

I remember shots from this angle during that memorable 1994 Stanley Cup Finals

[показать]

A unique thing about this arena is that the rink and seats are above ground (elevated), I remember going up several flights of escalators to get to my seat.

[показать]

Inside, getting to my seat...

[показать]

For being in the 200 section and costing $120 for MSG, this is a great view, not a bad seat in the entire house.

[показать]

The Rangers practising...

[показать]

KING Henrik Lundquist... the fans chant his name all the time, he's a fan favorite...

[показать]

[показать]

The Bruins, apparently as I discovered, NY fans have a mutual hatred for Boston teams...

[показать]

Hockey game and arena shots...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Opening faceoff...

[показать]

[показать]

First period action...

[показать]

[показать]

If I didn't know better I thought the ceiling of the arena was made of stained wood or something....

[показать]

Bruins players, including Mark Recchi on the right...

[показать]

[показать]

Sean Avery is also a fan favorite here, too, at least this guy thinks so...

[показать]

Second period action...

[показать]

[показать]

After the first period ended scoreless, Nik Antropov scored to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead... yes I was cheering for the Rangers

[показать]

[показать]

Boston answered quickly to tie it at 1.

[показать]

SCRAP!!!

[показать]

Nice scoreboard

[показать]

John Tortorella and the Rangers players...

[показать]

2-1 now...

[показать]

After the Rangers scored making it 3-1, Fernandez didn't know whether to cry or wind his watch...

[показать]

The Rangers won 4-3 in a wild affair... and the fans starting to chant, "BOSTON SUCKS!"

[показать]

Rangers celebrate a much-earned victory...

[показать]

All the Rangers players salute the fans after every home game, a great tradition...

[показать]

MSG Concourse, after the game...

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

The Penn Hotel, directly across the street from MSG...

[показать]

MSG one last time...

[показать]

[показать]

Streets lined with hockey fans, btw, yes there were some Boston fans in attendance, being as Boston is only about 200 miles from NYC.

[показать]

[показать]

[показать]

Bryant Park...

[показать]

I believe this is the American Radiator Building...

[показать]

[показать]

Bryant Park...

[показать]

[показать]

I believe the building on the left is a Chase Building, it reminds me a lot of the Chase Building in Rochester, New York, with its curved base...

[показать]

More Bryant Park...

[показать]

New York Public Library and Midtown western Skyline...

[показать]

Bryant Park once more...

[показать]

Looking down the street towards the Chrysler Building.
