Пьер-Огюст Ренуар

С 1880-х гг. Ренуар всё более тяготеет к классической ясности образов (в 1881-82 он посещает Италию), в его живописи нарастают черты декоративизма, формы ограничиваются контуром, моделировка объёмов становится жёсткой, в колорите преобладают оранжево-розовые тона.
Лаконизмом и лёгкостью штриха отличаются многочисленные рисунки Ренуара. Скульптурные работы Ренуара (гл. обр. нач. 1900-х гг.) стилистически сближаются с произведениями А. Майоля ("Венера", бронза, 1914-16, Музей Вальраф-Рихарц, Кёльн).
Жизнерадостное, глубоко гуманистическое творчество Ренуара оказало значительное воздействие на развитие реалистического искусства 20 в.
