Новая Венеция находится на планете Аква. Юная Акари приехала на Акву с Земли, дабы найти свое место в жизни, «состояться» и стать «настоящей русалкой». Во исполнение этого плана Акари устраивается в туристическую компанию «Ария», учится управлять гондолой, осваивает профессию гида и не устает восхищаться удивительным новым миром Аквы…
