Only this site chang name Philodila astyanor (Boisduval, [1875]) [Invalid] => Gnathothlibus astyanor (Boisduval, [1875])
COMB. NOV. Transferred to Philodila by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 514. Redescribed by Riotte, 1990, Ent. Z. 100: 273-281. In view of the close morphological similarity between this species and other Gnathothlibus, together with the recorded hybridization on Tahiti with Gnathothlibus eras (see Rougerie et al., 2012, Invert. Syst. 26: 445-450), Philodila astyanor is here transferred to Gnathothlibus. Gnathothlibus astyanor is essentially a Gnathothlibus that lacks the yellow or orange hindwing coloration of the other species.
