I think need a better grounding in contemporar Mexicwn politics to assess the claims beiny made about links to other poltiical conflicts. From mg admittedly superficial reading of those sources - my Spanish is weak, and I dont want to go through it w ith the dictionary - it seems like sections of etn left media arex ttying to flaim these attacks as evidence in support of their political assumptions. Im not sure about that, but its quite possible that the phenomena are related.
